2012 Game 59: Cubs at Twins

The Twins go for their first three-game sweep of the season today, right?

Ryan Dempster, who's on pace to have the best year of his career (though he only has one win...the poor guy's offense won't help him) faces Francisco Liriano, who is not, but has come back strong. Not that any of us ever know which version of him to expect.

Winners of 9 of their last 11, the Twins are now 24-34, which is bad, but certainly doesn't put them at some embarrassing outlier. I can live with that for now.

  1. CC to spookymilk: The Twins are off on June 11th. Hope you don't mind me publishing this on the tenth instead.

  2. Dick n Bert talkin about Butera catching Liriano today. I say let Butera put on the tools of ignorance, its about 150 degrees outside today.

  3. Gamed at is trying to tell me it's 57 degrees at The Bullseye right now. I do not believe their estimate.

      1. Hey, it's getting closer. It just change to Pompeii during the eruption of Vesuvias.

        1. Maybe he did and the cameras didn't show it, but there was no arm waving when Liddle was on my screen.

  4. I hate Plouffe. So much. And I say that after he does good things too. Hate.

    1. To me, he is now "Ploufffe." Because if we can take away a "d" for defense and an "o" for offense, surely we can add an "f" for &%$@!

  5. there is about a .13 % chance a member of the Cubs bullpen enters this game.

    1. Maybe if the Twins get a runner on third with no outs, the percentages will cancel each other out.

  6. Well, this game sucked, but the Twins still won the series, Buxton is all but signed and Hendricks is likely to be called up. Plus, the White Sox and the Royals lost, so the Twins didn't lose ground to the team directly ahead of them and the team in first (plus, it is always good when the Sox lose), so not too bad a day overall. Plus, Liriano pitched pretty well. The Twins just need to get him some run support.

    1. I just want to say that it's nice to have the old social back. Thank goodness the twins haven't lost 'em all.

  7. It's a long season. This kind of game happens once in a while. It's no problem. We'll just have to settle for 127-35!
