  1. In ex-Twins news, former farmhand Steve Tolleson has hit 353/409/521 in 132 PA for AAA Tucson since being traded by Oakland to San Diego at the end of May (for a PTBNL).

In 1074 AAA PA over three seasons, he now has a 301/380/437 slash line. Granted, most of that time is in the offense-friendly PCL, but still. Surely there is some team in the Majors that would be willing to give him a chance to be a utility player? Is his defense THAT bad?

    1. Another strike against him is that he's repeated AAA a couple times now, and repeaters tend to boost their stats even if they haven't improved. Seems like he'd make a little more sense for an NL team that needs pinch hitters, but then he's up against the stigma that you need experience to be a good pinch hitter. His strikeout rate isn't great (at the same time it's not terrible), so maybe scouts figure he can't hit major league breaking balls or something.
