  1. I don't think that Bartolo Colon was ever in the Twins organization. I get confused because it seems like the 2005 CY was a Twin, and the 2005 CY was definitely Colon.

I do see that Carlos Silva is no longer on the SWB-Yanks roster, but I couldn't find the move mentioned anywhere. Maybe you have a better resource than http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/transactions/ ?

    1. Did I actually write Bartolo Colon when I meant Carlos Silva? I have absolutely no explanation for that, other than early onset alzheimer's.

    1. I was at one of his first games in my old sweet seats at the Dome (see the TJ tidbits today). His parents were sitting directly in front of me and his father definitely was the one who taught him his batting eye. I can't remember too many specifics but he was sitting in his chair imploring Kielty to work the count way more than any other family member I ever observed.

Oh, and I totally called this homer to the strangers sitting around me at the Dome. I actually called the homerun on the previous pitch and it ended up as a foul ball like the one Rob describes Frank Thomas hitting that just missed being a homerun. Next pitch, gone.
