The Cardigans are one of my most favorite unfairly labeled one hit wonder bands. I would put them behind Superdrag but ahead of Fountains of Wayne.

I haven't done much breaking up lately but my favorite break up album of all time is Long Gone Before Daylight from the Cardigans.

    EAR thought that Merrill Bainbridge's second album was better than her first.
    I disagreed and thought the only thing she did that was worth my attention was "Mouth".

    Beck was on his way (until "Where It's At").

    And on the other hand, totally deserving one-hit wonders:
    Stardust ("Music Sounds Better With You" was the only song ever credited to them)
    Dirty Vegas (The rest of the album was OK, but not transcendent like the single).

    *I'm listening to the Hot Chip remix of "Passin' Me By" right now. OMFG. I want Hot Chip to remix all my favorite mid-90's hip hop records. Organs drones, noir guitars (as if they were Twilight Circus), yet the vox riding high and clear above it all. And they kept the Hendrix sample.

    While I liked the song 'Lovefool', I really liked 'My Favourite Game' from the Gran Turismo album
