It appears I lost my copy of "Novel Sounds of the Nouveau South" with the HD crash. This totally bummed me out.

*Free download, which highly suggest you avail yourself of.

    1. I'm of the opinion that if I paid for the music in one format, and that format becomes inaccessible to me, there's no harm in getting it on the web. See my post below about d/ling album I cannot locate. I don't have the setup to convert vinyl to mp3, so I d/l a bunch of the random stuff I have on vinyl.

Corollary: if purchasing media in my country is not a reasonable option (no $30 Japanese imports for one bonus track), I'm going to get it without purchasing it.

Translated: you should download Novel Sounds. If you need help, I could upload it somewhere.

  3. Hey, lucky fools. I get the music videos next week. Any requests besides Toby Keith and Billy Ray Cyrus?

    1. Pre-1980 country would be good. I'm getting into Merle, but I know there's a lot I'm ignorant on and would probably dig:
Patsy Cline, George Jones, Conway Twitty, and Hank Sr., plus probably tons of others whose names I don't even know.
(OK, I'm not exactly ignorant of Patsy, but my familiarity extends only to every track of Heartaches.)

*This is not Iron Maiden's best moment.

    1. Wow, seven songs on Pandora without a commercial. I believe that is some kind of record.

I suspect it was due to fear. The Iron Maiden gave Pandora an opening.

      1. I did really like the previous We've Come for You All, but my album purchasing has been on a stand still for a couple of years, unfortunately. I'll have to check it out on the Youtube. (I just remembered I haven't even gotten the new Iron Maiden album yet.)

  9. So after spending way too long searching my house for my copy of Tricky's Pre-Millennium Tension (which was my favorite album of all time for about five years), I finally downloaded an ilicit copy. (Though the song "Ghetto Youth" was missing. I assume that's like not ripping "Foxymop" from Pearl Jam's Vitalogy or “Revolution No. 9” from the Beatles' The Beatles.) I listened to it straight through on my bus ride in to work: it still sounds good to me.

    *Notes

    6. I've stated it before, but I believe that Prince should just be awarded the Super Bowl Half-Time Show as a regular annual gig. I can't think of any performer that could put together a better show that would still have broad-enough appeal for the national audience. The way I can imagine a better show is if Prince gets another go (or five) at it. Plus, it's not like he'd run out of material: his use of covers and medley made the whole thing an exhilarating blast.

    T. Bummer of an album. CER, who likes a lot of Björk's songs, is learning Greek and Latin roots. We worked out that “Biophilia” means “Love of living things.” So then, she say, there must be a lot of songs about animals and plants. But no, almost all of the songs are about geological and astrological things: crystals, moon, thunder, dark matter, plate techtonics, solstice. Only “Virus” really falls into the biological realm. If Björk chose the title ironically, well then she's on another level above me, otherwise it was definitely half-baked.

    E. Selected, ahem, “lyrics“:

What he aught to do is get knocked on his ass.

That doesn't have anything to do with anything.

It has nothin' to do with nothin'.

We're out here battling for our lives and I want ‘showtime‘.

Who should get fined. Why don't umpires get fined? I get fined. I can't throw him out.

I was in the dugout. He's gotta be looking in the dugout to throw me out.

All I've got for Gardy rants is this one and the half-baked remix. I'd love more, because this one is fantastic. If anyone has any audio clips of Gardy when he's animated, please let me know. Likewise, if anyone wants a copy of these, tell me where to send the MP3s.

    1. if this isn't the best cover ever made I don't know what is.

that was my first experience with that song. when i finally started listening to ol' billy a few months back, i thought, where do i know this song from? shortly after i thought, wow, i'm an idiot.
