PUERTO RICAN LEAGUE

Caguas 2, Carolina 1 (12 innings).  Aaron Bates pinch-hit for Caguas, going 0-for-1.

VENEZUELAN LEAGUE

Anzoategui 3, Magallanes 1 in Magallanes.  Lester Oliveros struck out two in a perfect inning for Anzoategui.

AUSTRALIAN LEAGUE

Perth 16, Sydney 1 in Sydney (Game 1).  Todd Van Steensel surrendered four runs on eight hits in 1.2 innings for Sydney.

Perth 5, Sydney 3 in Sydney (Game 2).  Jacob Younis was 1-for-4 and scored once for Sydney.

  1. I don't know why, but I'm really excited to see what Oliveros can do with the Twins*. Maybe it's because he's a (Blanco)?

    *will he make the big club? I guess I don't even know that for sure...

    1. I think it's possible that he could, but it's far from guaranteed. He's going to have to learn to throw strikes, as he's walking more than five batters per nine innings in AA and AAA. It also depends on who else the Twins sign for bullpen help, of course.
