DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Escogido 9, Licey 4 in Licey.  Pedro Florimon was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, a run, and an RBI for Escogido.

Aguilas 3, Cibao 0 in Aguilas.  Alexi Casilla was 1-for-4 for Cibao.  Wilkin Ramirez was 0-for-2 for Cibao.

PUERTO RICAN LEAGUE

Caguas 4, Ponce 2 in Caguas.  Angel Morales was 0-for-3 for Ponce.

Carolina 9, Mayaguez 1 in Mayaguez.  Daniel Ortiz was 0-for-4 for Mayaguez.

VENEZUELAN LEAGUE

Anzoategui 2, Zulia 1 in Anzoategui.  Lester Oliveros pitched a perfect inning for Anzoategui.

  1. The Dominican League playoffs have now started. It's hard to find the playoff procedures of winter leagues, but as far as I can tell, the Dominican League has a four-team, eighteen-game round-robin playoff which will go for roughly the next three weeks. I don't know if there's another round after that, or if the winner is simply the league champion. The league also apparently uses the old amateur baseball tradition of pick-up players, as Wilkin Ramirez was playing for Este during the regular season, but is now with Cibao for the playoffs.
