2012 Game Logs: Game 11 Timberwolves @ NOLA

Minnesota is a 1.5 point favorite on the road tonight. I know the nation may not be filled with gamblers but it doesn't take the wagering type to know that it isn't every day the Wolves are favored on the road.

Eric Gordon is out tonight for the Hornets. The Wolves will be without Beasley. So I figure that is about even.  Or not.

Below some information from covers.com

NOLA is averaging .5 boards more per game than the Wolves. Let's see is Kevin Love close that gap a little bit tonight.

There are still a lot of improvements to be made but this team is a lot better than last season.  Or at least it feels a lot better than a 3-7 team.

    1. CH has really been good lately. I've been dropping in there every now and then for the last couple of years, but now that there's actually a coach and a team worth watching, they've been analyzing the crap out of everything. Pretty enjoyable.

  1. Or at least it feels a lot better than a 3-7 team.

They've scored more points than they've allowed so far this season. (Not by much, but still, their point differential is better than most teams in the bottom half of the league by record.)

  2. League Pass seems in no hurry to show this game. I wonder if they were relying on the FSN feed? I would be pretty bummed if there was no broadcast tonight.

  3. It isn't often I LOL but when you try a Rubioop to Darko, well, that can only end one way.

        1. It is nice to see that the free product has the audio feed while the League Pass does not today. Money well spent.

        2. on that topic, the former AT Dat HE (whatever, don't care to mask anymore) doesn't seem to be working. a shame as FR.TV doesn't play well with my PS3...

      1. Maybe it's this build of Chromium that doesn't recognize that code. No biggie. I just wondered if maybe it was related to the question about the ability to cancel LTEs in the CoC.

        1. The inability to cancel definitely isn't limited by browser. I'm going to blame this on today.

  4. I don't know how the Wolves are only down 3 with the way they've been playing so far, but this is the longest I've seen the starters stay out there to begin a game.

  5. The NOLA broadcasters are using Friday the 13th as an excuse to use their Halloween Graphics/Soundboard tonight.

        1. Sounds like a personal personnel problem.

Fortunately, the Hornets continue to let Kaman shoot.

  6. Isn't Darko supposed to at least be good at defense. Why isn't he in the game?

  7. Huh. The Wolves have no business being down only 1 right now. This has been one sloppy game.

  8. Heh, when Ridnour shot that 3, my first instinct was to call him an idiot. I totally missed that the half was about to end. Sorry Luke.

(I still strongly dislike you as a basketball player, though.)

  9. MN 100% on FT, 36% from 3PT range
NO 57% on FT, 0% from 3 PT range

There's why the game is so close, I'd guess. Sure feels like the Wolves should be getting blown off the court.

        1. I am bored outta my skull sitting here at my parents. If I can't hang out with people physically, why not stop into my friendly neighborhood local?

  10. Luke shot that with 20 seconds left on the shot clock. Sure it went in, but. Well, I guess it doesn't matter since Minnesota is on a 9-0 run.

    1. I didn't hate it. It was wide open. It's not like a Beasley shot where he'd take that 5 seconds into the shot clock with 2 defenders draped on him.

      1. I just don't like shooting a mid range jumper with that much time on the clock. There has to be a better shot available.

        1. Luke Ridinour is like Tony Batista in that everybody likes the results.

  11. radio guy Al Horton said that should of been a goaltend...was he right?

    *should have refreshed before posting

  12. Tolliver is being extra gritty down the stretch.
Is Tolliver the Nick Punto of the Wolves?

    1. I do that too. I assume my team will miss every FT and the opponents will make every one.

          1. Yeah, that offer looks much more acceptable to me now then it did then. Probably still wouldn't do it, but it was a much more fair offer than I thought at the time.

  13. Tonight the free throws worked out in our favor. If you switch FT% and NOLA wins this game. Hopefully this is the start of a trend.

        1. I am amused that my 50k comment just about goes off the plaque. Good thing it was some deep analysis comment that had a thousand words.

        1. Yeah, they lost their one defensive liability to a team that had only defensive liabilities. I don't remember who wrote it, but I remember some writer talking about the "coup to get Carmelo" and how it had been a great thing for the Knicks, and it was already clear that the Knicks were imploding out of the playoffs while the Nuggets surged.

          1. Before they got Anthony, Amar'e was a force. Now, he's shooting jump shots! What? He's a legendary finisher, but that's all gone now.

            1. I haven't had the misfortune to see the Knicks yet. I'm surprised to see they're as good as 6-5, but they're not the threat that New York was hoping they would be.

  14. I'm not actually watching any basketball right now, but I just made a lebanon bologna sandwich (*mmm* sodium) and cracked a Schell's Dark from my sampler, so I'm set for the foreseeable future if y'all'll be around.
