WGOM Radio – The Setting Up

So, sean and I have been conversing and WGOM Radio is coming along nicely. It appears as though I have the recording and editing figured out, while sean is working on hosting and dissemination. After the jump is a rough idea of who has offered to participate in some way. Please add or make corrections in the comments.

So far, programming is going to be a mix of "Pepper!" (if SBG will grant us use of the naming rights) and one-on-one "Better Know A Citizen" episodes. And I even found a song on the Free Music Archive licensed under Creative Commons for use as our theme song. I think you'll all like it. Once everyone who wants to partake is signed up and sean and I have the kinks worked out, we'll set up some sort of schedule.

Any and all suggestions and participants are welcome. Please speak up below.

Edit: I'm adding to the list as people sign up.

  1. I would be more than willing to be a panelist (at least it would give spooky a reason to continue calling me!) from time to time. Also, once it gets going I may develop some ideas on other content I could contribute.

    1. I was imagining our "Pepper!" roundtables would touch everything from baseball to parenting to beer in small doses, but if anyone wanted to sit down and do a longer, more focused piece, that's definitely more than welcome.

  2. My schedule will not permit me to participate on anything resembling a regular basis. I would, however, be willing to be a part of it on a very occasional basis if my schedule can be harmonized with that of others.

            1. If you had her call from the games, odds are the entire conversation would be, "I can't believe I have to see Drew [Bertin'] Butera and Matt [Bertin'] Tolbert again." That's pretty much what I heard every game we attended last season.

                1. Other insights (from just the KC trip) may have included: "How does anyone manage to live in Kansas City?," "I'm pretty sure it's so hot that I'm now stuck to my seat," "RR's friends were really nice to grill us lunch," and "Who is Brian Dinkelman?"

  3. Don't anybody worry about fitting an appearance into your weekly schedule or anything. We should have enough people to rotate fairly regularly so no one is too bogged down.

  4. I'm certainly interested in participating on some level. I do have a headset/microphone combo I'm sure would be needed?

  5. I'd be interested in participating. I promise to only use "um" no more often than every third word, even.

  6. Add me to the regular list. I need to get some gear first, but am interested in participating.

  7. I am new here, and still trying to catch up on what's going on. There is going to be a WGOM podcast??? That is an amazingly great idea. If I am still considered a citizen, I would love to be a special guest sometime. Although given my proclivity for long unexplained absences, maybe I shouldn't be counted on as a regular contributor.

      1. Well I haven't been around since stickandballguy.com went dark. I wasn't sure exactly what my visa status is on this site.

        1. We have been looking for some new blood, so I think your immigration papers could be fast tracked.
