2012 Game Logs: Game 16 Minnesota @ Utah

I had to take a small nap during half time last night that extended about 8 minutes into the third quarter but I watched the end of the game last night on East Coast time. I think I am really falling for this team. As many of you on the site know I have always considered myself and "NBA fan" but never really had an affiliation towards a team until I started hanging out in these parts. Seeing Stick's love of the Wolves, warts and all, was kind of contagious and I started to monitor the team a little more closely. And though I am still looking for proof, there are rumors that I said I would move to the Twin Cities if the Wolves drafted Rubio in 2009.  Well, the Wolves drafted Rubio and while I am still here in Buffalo, I am watching this team with much more interest than I have watched with any of my local teams in some time.

I know I volunteered myself to the Wolves last season when I made my formal decision to take my fandom to the Twin Cities. But I will admit, as the season wore on, my interest waned. I found myself watching more Oklahoma City, Trailblazers, or Heat games than anything else.. This season, well, I don't think I am going to run into that problem.

Bonus points for a Wolves win tonight as Minnesota has Utah's first round pick in the next draft!

  1. no local tv tonight (Hockey Day in Minnesota is on FSN, although its more like 'Hockey Day in the Twins Cities and a few Northern Minnesota Towns' because once again FSN refuses to acknowledge any hockey south of Lakeville)

      1. We should have the Jazz feed tonight. There was a game last year in Memphis where neither team was broadcasting the game so we were treated to the in arena camera feed that would often show in game highlights instead of actual live action. Cheaptoy should remember that game, I think.

        1. I think I do remember that. I also think I remember being annoyed that I couldn't just watch the in-arena camera with no other sounds but the arena.

          1. I believe the announcers were from NBA tv's production truck. It was pretty bad.

      2. There's gotta be a powder for that, yeah?

But on a serious note, this is the first time in years that I have actively anticipated watching Wolves games.

  2. Yep, getting the Jazz feed. This game has a lot to live up to.

I predict BAJ scores 20 and gives up 25.

    1. I think Adelman probably punched him in the face in practice and said "quite being a pussy out there."

    1. The NBA Trade Machine on espn was down for two weeks. It started working again on Wednesday. Since that time he has started playing like he doesn't want to be traded.

      1. I'm fine with having him play better. That's better than having to trade him anyway. 🙂

  3. Rubio is doing everything he can to make Pek look good tonight. Sometimes Pek helps out.

      1. I had a dream last night that she guest starred on our show, and she and I became friends. She started playing Werewolf at Casa de Leche, and then made a video, wearing a WGOM shirt, and finished by saying "Suck it, nibbish!"

        It's inevitable.

  4. In all fairness to those kids texting in the commerical no one could have expected a giant LOL in the middle of the road.

  5. ad on the radio right now 'FSN is you home to catch all the Timberwolves action'

    right on

  6. The Wolves are only down 2 at half time? After the adjustments Adelman puts into play this game is going to be a blow out.

  7. In something completely unrelated to the game, whoever first decided to put sesame seeds on pizza crust is a genius.

      1. Tonight we have bacon but I've gone with sesame seeds with other toppings as well and never been disappointed. I hope they have sesame seed crust at Captain Karl's Pizza Ship.

  8. Man, for how much I like hockey the NHL is embarrassing. Two players fight, both get minors, then two seconds after they get released from the box, they go at it again. I hate that part of the game.

  9. The Wolves are really putting themselves in a position to make an awesome come from behind victory.

    1. You'll have to forgive the booth, they were working under the impression that refs weren't calling goaltends this year. (at least, that's what I've noticed.)

  10. I love the play where Rubio passes to the open guy who makes a three pointer.

  11. I am pretty sure Wayne Ellington is shooting 113% from the field this past week.

  12. I feel like the Mac character, when he was trying to bulk up, on Its Always Sunny is best realized in the form of Nikola Pekovic.
