Game 23: Timberwolves @ New Jersey. 6pm

*** ALERT ALERT *** SIX pm East Coast start

There is no local TV for this game, so once again I will follow the action on the radio with Alan Horton ( @WolvesRadio on the Twitter machine! He is actually a good follow because he throws out awesome stats during timeouts/halftime of the game and post game stats afterward).

I gotta be honest, I dont know a whole lot about the Nets. They have a bunch of injuries and Kris Humphries plays for them. I also thought they were moving to Brooklyn and they are owned by a Russian billionaire who might run for President of Russia (good luck beating Putin!). Daron Williams plays for them and is the leading scorer at 20 per, and hasnt run coach Avery Johnson out of town (yet). The Nets are also rated 3rd to last in points given up (98.8 p/g)

The Wolves are looking for a victory after getting the snot kicked out of them by the Pacers. I hope Pek! starts tonight.

  1. somewhat surprisingly, Kris Humphries has become a legit NBA power forward. At age 26, he's in just his second season of getting starter minutes (and last year they were marginal starter minutes -- 27.9 min/g) and he is delivering a nightly double-double (13.1/10.5 averages, plus over an assist per game).

He has always rebounded well in the league, but now he's finally moved away from being a volume shooter who gets limited minutes to a reasonably efficient scorer (.555 TS% last year; .548 TS% so far this year, compared to a career .503). Too bad he is a crappy FT shooter.

  2. The Wolves finally found a team that plays the same style of first quarter ball as them.

  3. It does not appear this game on league pass. This is what it must feel like to live in Minnesota.

  4. "Wes Johnson with all the tools, just hasn't been able to put it together consistently."

Great, the Wolves version of Carlos Gomez.

  5. Oh poor Pekovic. He's just not prepared to get the ball unless it's near the rim. I definitely know that feeling.

  6. Today you could wear a jersey to work to help you get pumped up for the super bowl, or something. I wore my broke butt Rubio jersey. As you might imagine I was the only person in a Wolves Jersey at work.

  7. It's bad enough the game isn't on TV, but all my %#&@!! game-stat feeds are frozen at 8:49 left to go in the fourth. NBA.com sucks.

      1. I do when I'm at home, but I'm at work right now. I'm a little surprised the Feds didn't shut that down too, with the upcoming Superbowl and all.

        1. Well, it doesn't matter because apparently everyone's DirecTV is down. Them fed assholes shut down E-6's site, though.

  8. Man, if Kevin Love was not on a team I rooted for I would hate that dude.

    1. I have no problem with hating dudes on my team, but it's usually for sucking badly at some aspect of the game(see exhibit A- Young, D.).

        1. I'm more apathetic towards Wes at this point, but that's mostly because Adelman sits his useless butt down frequently. That didn't happen nearly often enough with Delmon.

  9. just got home. didn't know this was an early game, but at least i got back for the good part.

      1. To me, it looks like Ridnour jostled it free, but it was still in Williams'(?) hands when he lost control.

        1. i tuned in for the last part, and i thought i heard the announcers say that, but i swore i misheard it. huh.

  10. 18/18 on free throws second half. That's how you win.

And kudos to Rubio for the awesome jump ball to end the game
