  1. I mentioned the Chelsea-ManU game in yesterday's CoC. It was a fun game to watch, although frustrating to Chelsea fans.

It is interesting that ManU and City are both the only real contenders for the EPL but are out of FA Cup and Champions League. I guess that means they can stay fresh for EPL but that means clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, etc can concentrate on those other Cups at this point (Chelsea for both, although I don't see them advancing past the round of 8 in UEFA CL). I haven't seen when they could potentially match-up but a Spurs-Chelsea FA Cup final would be a lot of fun.

  2. If Sunderland wins the replay against Middlesbrough on Wednesday, their 6th round match against Arsenal will be the only game in that round that features two EPL teams.

So technically it's possible that all nine remaining Premier League teams could be eliminated by Round 7 of the FA Cup. Which would be as hilarious as it is unlikely.

  3. Sunderland won the replay today, 2-1 in extra time. Now they host Arsenal in the next round, one week after hosting Arsenal in league play. In between, Arsenal have to travel to Milan for their Champions League match.

Sunderland haven't lost to Arsenal at home since the end of the '07-'08 season. I'm feeling kind of optimistic about these next two matchups.
