1. i'm willing to step up from a bench role, but maybe for one of the utility roles. i'd be willing to take monday or tuesday gamelogs or tuesday, wednesday, or friday recaps if the previous owners don't want them (friday recaps would be my #1 choice out of everything). worse comes to worse, i'll bite the bullet and take whatever other spot is open.

   1. I'm happy to cede my Monday game log role to the younger generation 😉

2. I would love to do recaps, but I'm the first to admit that I'm probably not reliable enough to be counted on to do them each and every week. Is there a way to do them, like, every once in a while?

   1. I wouldn't dislike a recapper-by-committee system on some day, but I think they'll be forgotten unless I put someone down. That person can then ask for a pinch-hitter when he feels overwhelmed or apathetic.

      I'll put you down for what were formerly DG's Thursday game recaps, for now.

      1. ah, damn it all. i totally meant to say i'd prefer monday, tuesday, or thursday recaps with thursday being my top choice (i was thinking of the day they're posted, not which night's game they corresponds to). my mistake. they're all yours if you want them, new guy, or i'll claim them if it's still too much.

         or if you want to do about half the normal work, you could fill in for the games that yickit will miss 😉

            I'm totally ready to bow out if there is enough interest. Or if some wants to split it straight up we can talk about scheduling. And WGOM bucks or something closer to street cred.

         2. Hmm. Thursday might be my top choice as well. To be honest though, I don't really care if I get a recap or a game log. My *ahem* loose writing style would go equally well with either. But the more I think about it the more I'm ready to commit to participating, so I hope I get to do something.

4. I'll put the Thursday recap up for grabs. I might grab a recap spot if we need someone, but right now I just have no idea what things will be like time-wise during the season.

8. I'm solidly down for the All-Star Game log again this year. And Game 163, if necessary.

10. If possible, I am hoping to swap my Friday recap slot for a weekly game log. It would be nice if I could work in advance a bit instead of on a short deadline every week. I'd still make myself available for pinch hitting on recaps, though.

                   if i do end up with friday recaps though, please, i hope no one expects anything near the quantity twayn pulled off week after week.

                   1. hj, there are a several Monday off days so if you like I'd be willing to split Friday recaps with you. We could switch off every week or do an every other month thing. Or I could take recaps on weeks without a Monday game. Let me know what you think, we can work something out.

11. If people are interested, here are the number of scheduled games for each day.

    Friday/Saturday/Sunday - 26 each

    Monday - 21
    Tuesday - 24
    Wednesday - 25
    Thursday - 14

12. I better bow out this year. I got too much on my plate right now. I might be able to pinch hit once in a while.

13. I would take a Thursday if there aren't enough people to do it. If anyone else wants to do it put them on the list in front of me though.

       1. I assume CH will be in, so I moved you over. This solves your problem, but of course, not ours, which is just a bit different now. Friday recaps are open, people.

          1. I know it's only been 24 hours since I bowed out of one spot, but Friday should work pretty well for me regardless of other things, so if no one else wants that spot, I'll jump back in the ring.

                   1. I was mostly trying to subtly get out of recapping all the losses that a spookymilk authored gamelog inevitably leads to.

                      1. Friday did worse than Thursday last year though.

                         1. Psh. Facts are meaningless. My gut says that spooky gamelog = loss.

                         I think I ended up with a respectable record last year, strangely enough, as the Twins started winning on Thursday mid-season and tanking on every other day.

    Edit: Also, if he's unable or unwilling to handle Sat game logs - I'm down to cover them.

17. I honestly don't think I can commit to a game log this year. My absence here this week is something of an indication of the way my spring and early summer are headed - house hunting/purchasing, moving, trips home to keep an eye on things, grading, attending seminars, a trip to Russia, and that's just through the first week of June.

18. Alright, so the latest is that Sunday and Saturday recaps need to be filled, and nibbish hasn't confirmed his spot yet, but I expect him to, because I talk to him quite a bit offsite and he's suggested that he wasn't going to stop with them.

    Recappers, where are you?

19. Since I'm already doing the logs on Saturday, I can do the recaps, if need be.

    1. I'll put you down there just so we can unstick this post.

       Obviously, it should be somewhat easy to find a pinch hitter when you need them.

       1. I'll try to give advanced warning, which should be relatively easy, because my wife is very organized about weekendy things.
