Game 17 Recap: Boston Red Sox 6, Minnesota Twins 5

fangraphs (roller coaster of suck)
mlb recap

yet another game i was unable to watch or hear. this made me particularly upset as i've been able to hear about 2% of TK's broadcasts, and i already love them. i was able to "follow" along on gameday, and was able to "watch" in "real time" as capps does what he does. i'm not going to say it, so you guys can. also, while you're saying stuff, please think up some arguments for me to take to the boss on how getting mlb.tv is essential towards our quality of life.

i wanted to embed the JC/plouffe! play to give us some measure of happiness, but i came up short. sounds about right.

  1. Saw the Sound Chasers play the Sounds last night; quite the display of AAA non-fundamentals, particularly by Milwaukee's team. Then heard StL give up the game in the 9th to the Cubs on the radio home. Then got to the hotel room to find that Capps had served up the go-ahead run between when we'd checked the score in the car and when I got MLB audio up and running in the room.

Still, a beautiful night at a ballpark can't be beat.

  2. Can of Corn, AMR, me, and Alganad at last night's Twins game. AMR was flashing gang signs so I had to blur it out.

    1. did you find any Torpedos at the park, free?

Looks like you guys had a good time. I'm jealous.

    2. Wish I'd been able to come down and say hi, but I was indeed getting pretty drunk in the Legends Club. They don't have vendors, they have waiters and waitresses!

  3. When you throw a fastball down and away, you shouldn't have to worry about it going out of the ballpark, especially against Cody Ross. Ross and Saltalamachia hit three home runs, all on pitches that were pretty well located. Obviously, Ross was looking for Marquis' sinker inside, but his first homer and Salty's homer both looked like borderline pitches or even balls out of the zone. Then the Red Sox closer gives Plouffe a meat pitch and it just turns into a long out and Doumit crushes a ball with a man on third and one out and its just a lineout, the second time in three games he had that happen. Oh, the frustration.

    1. The crowd just aching for Plouffe!'s long fly ball to get out of the park. When it didn't, the air pretty much left the place (along with quite a few "fans"). Still and all, it was a fun game to watch and the seats were great. Once again, thanks for the find Algonad.

    2. that HR Salty hit was ridiculous. and Ross' HR off Capps, not that many RH bats hit it up where he hit it.

I do wish the Twins got to the Red Sox bullpen earlier. The farther lester went into the game, the shorter the at bats became. He ended up pitching 7 innings.

    1. About two hours after the game ended and an hour after I arrived at home, I crawled to my bathroom and dedicated myself to not hurling.
I stayed home from work today, because I couldn't imagine riding on the bus.

I have a fear that my inside-out burger from the Depot was a Bluddy Luicy. CoC, Free, you guys have any problems?
