  1. The second base ump must be wondering what happened to his nice, relaxing day.

  2. If we got one in the first, it logically follows that we should get two in the second, right?

  3. I think the Twins should intentionally walk the first batter of every inning, just so they can turn a double play.

  4. Again, I know hitting the ball up the middle is supposed to be a good thing, but the Twins seem to hit an incredible number of balls either right back to or off of the pitcher.

      1. What about having your biceps surgically removed? That wouldn't kill you and it certainly wouldn't make you stronger. Maybe we should remove his biceps.

    1. Dazzle was upset that Plouffe was trying to bunt the pitch before. He didn't have much to say after he bunted for a hit.

  5. How often do you see a guy commit a meaningless error, then the next inning....

  6. error on Dozier? That must mean he is batting in the next half-inning. Sweet!

  7. If I was going to go to games in Cleveland, I think I'd do something to make sure I wasn't sitting near the guy with the bass drum.

  8. Jim Hughes was the answer to the tv trivia question. Looking at his b-r page, looks like he may have gotten injured and cut his career. He has that good rookie season (249 IP, 130 k's!!!), started another 26 in 1976, 2 games in '77 and thats it.

  9. Cal-Dartmouth ruggers on the telly. Cal just scored with no time on the clock to end the first half.

  10. That's only the end of the 5th? I could have sworn we were going into the 8th at least.

  11. I assume Dozier had to try to score there or else it would've been a double play.

  12. "As good as Dozier's baserunning was on the previous play, his baserunning on that play was just as bad as the previous goodness on that play."

    --Tim McCarver (probably)

    1. If I hear that in McCarver's voice, it sounds exactly like something he'd say.

      1. If he's at home doing commentary on his own, I'm sure that's exactly what he said.

    1. I think he would have been out either way. In any case, it's retribution for all those years of Punto.

  13. Most people younger than me who are listening to Dazzle are now asking, "Who's Warren Spahn?"

  14. ooooh, Duncan said a couple of naughty words the mics picked up after that strikeout.

  15. Despite what Dazzle said, I saw a stat recently (can't remember where--might've been Seth) that said Mauer only sees a first-pitch strike about fifty percent of the time.

      1. What the hell, how'd this get here? Clearly, since you posted at 4:20, the server was high.

    1. I don't know what you're referencing, but it tosses more fuel on my "disinterested in purchasing Summit" stance.

        1. To be fair, maybe they have their own scale that has not gone international yet?

  16. looks like Diamonds' ERA will go down because the 3 runs on the boards are all unearned.

  17. This is Diamond's sixth start, and while they haven't all been great, none of them has been bad. On this team, that makes him the staff ace.

          1. That would be if he threw a meatball. If he gets hammered, then it would be this:

    1. It's right up there with a broken leg and decapitation in terms of madeupness.

  18. the Twins have 29 hits so far this series. 6 have been for extra bases (4 doubles, 2 HR)

  19. If Capps were willing to start throwing at people's heads, we could start calling him "Decappitator". That would be awesome. Well, except for all the lives he'd ruin.

  20. win number 20 on the year. still 13 games back from an even record. yeesh.

  21. A winning record in June! This is the first time this season the Twins have had a winning record in their current month. This is the latest the Twins have had a winning record in a month since they ended July 2011 with a winning record. They started out September 1-0, but that was it. Twins are 10-7 in their last 17 games.
