  1. White Sox-Rangers on ESPN, Cubs-Braves on WGN, with Dave 'Soup' Campbell filling in for Bob Brenley.

  2. Dick n Roy jumped on to say that the grounds crew has not budged yet, but the rain is light and their hunch is that they'll play a game tonight sometime.

#Tigers estimate first pitch at 8:30 p.m. (Central)

#Yankees trade Ivan Nova and a bucket of balls to #Twins for Nick Blackburn

The blue rectangle makes it official, right?

  5. did you know: Brad Radke gave up more HRs than walked people twice. 2003 he gave up 32 HR and walked 28 and in 2005 gave up 33 and walked 23.

      1. I see Liam went 10/10.
Looking at the current stats, Nick Blackburn gave up 15 homers in 63 innings. oof.

  6. Game's going to run late. Hopefully the Twins' offense can give the Detroit fans some fireworks so they can go home early. /wishful thinking

  7. Chris Parmelee hasnt played much since being recalled, so he gets a start against Verlander!

  8. I now know how other fans felt when Delmon was batting. Relief mingled with amusement.

  9. I just saw the Parmelee HR. I don't think Verlander will get angry at Bosch for escorting it to the wall.

      1. I listened to most of game 1 of Saturday's double header and they were the announcing duo. I was very impressed.

          1. I have fallen in love with the Atteberry/Provus duo. Provus fixes all of Atteberry's problems.

            1. I starting to really like Provus. Atteberry seems pretty average, but given that we normally get Dazzle, "average" sounds a lot better.

              1. I like Atteberry's enthusiasm and I think Provus adds a more "professional" voice to the mix. Plus they don't really seem roped in to the company line.

              2. I'm a little unhappy that I haven't gotten to listen to more of the Dazzle-free radio broadcasts from the last week. I like Atteberry and Provus has been a fine free-agent pickup.

    1. i heard it. they cut to commercial pretty quick after that. $5 that makes sportscenter.

  10. Tigers color says the Tigers would like to see more of Jackson stealing third. "Really, stealing third should be easier than stealing second."

    Also, f*^k Cabrera.

    1. ..Why should it be easier? The runner can't see the fielder as easily and the catcher doesn't have to throw as far.

        1. You can get a bigger lead, plus the pitchers seem more likely to forget about you. The Twins stole third several times against the Royals. Some without a throw. Plus, if the ball is thrown away there's less chance of backup and you score a run if the left fielder isn't right there backing up.

    2. the only way I can see it being easier is if there is a right handed batter in the box, then the catcher kind of has to throw around him.

  11. The Twins had about a 5% chance of winning this game before it started because Verlander was starting. Let the Tiggers have their fun tonight, then we score 23 run tomorrow

  12. oh man, that was mean.

about 4 hard fastballs, then a slow curve right over the middle of the plate.

  13. Chuck James just tweeted that he's been released. Not sure who he was with.

    1. He was with the Mets. He had an injury early this season, and I don't think he's yet returned to play.

  14. Can't win them all, even at Comerica. If you're going to be dominated by Verlander and give up two bombs to Cabrera, might as well do it all in the same game. I'm sure we'll here about the Twins' overtaxed bullpen even though only two relievers actually pitched.

  15. If you're going to be dominated by Verlander and give up two bombs to Cabrera, might as well do it all in the same game.

This was my exact thought as it was winding down.
