  1. I hope Deduno continues to get a lot of groundballs, 'cause I don't want to see Willingham and Parmelee showing off their range.

  2. Fan fact: Samuel Deduno will be the 8th Twins pitcher to start 10 games this season.

can you name the other 7?

    1. Hmm... from most confident to least

    2. Well, I'll do the full list this time-

  3. So when the camera pans over the Twins dugout, keep your eyes open for a young guy with short hair and a big round head and glasses. That's my friend Curtis.

  4. I bet if I were alive when Rod Carew ran around the bases for the Twins, he would have been my favorite player. He retired from baseball before I knew what a baseball was.

    1. He DEFINITELY was my favorite, but for his hitting, not his baserunning. I don't really remember Martin as manager; I do remember Bill Rigney, though.

  5. Dazz: "Let's see how Gardy plays it. Let Revere go ahead and swing the bat?"

Me: It's 4-0 and you have a guy on second with no outs against a guy you are shelling. WTF do you think you should do with a guy hitting .308???

  6. I should go back and stand in line for Surly...this whole thing happened while waiting for beer.

  7. Alright gents, if I wake up and find out we've lost this one, there's going to be hell toupee!

  8. wow

From Rob Antony: L. Oliveros did undergo Tommy John. They went in for a cleanup & discovered they had to. Was always a possibility. #mntwins

    1. Going forward, anytime the Twins acquire a pitcher they should preemptively make him have TJ surgery just to get it out of the way.

  9. for the season, Deduno now has 39 strikeouts and 37 walks. He entered the game at a 0.81 k/bb ratio

  10. Well, this Mariners lineup is still pretty bad. (Although all the stuff sean said in response to me is true, too.) But zero walks and nine strikeouts is a lot more of something to grasp onto than when those numbers trend the opposite way.

  11. So, how many games did Diamond wait to start his six-game suspension? Long enough to miss two turns?

    1. nope, he dropped his appeal today so he could basically pitch yesterday. one start missed.

  12. Hahahaha they just showed my friend shaking Deduno's hand. This has been a hilarious night. I can't wait to talk to him about this.

  13. that was only the 4th time all year a Twins pitcher recorded 9 k's. Liriano had the other three games (15,10,9)

      1. I have an "aerial" picture of Target Field on my phone from your game back in May...taken from near the top of the IDS. I keep thinking I should download it but I can never find my microSD cartridge. I'll e-mail and post for you asap.

        1. This is the one...day game, phone says 'May 30, 2012'. I took it thinking you'd be there and it would make a for a cool talker, then I forgot about it. Is that the right game?

  14. Samuel Deduno moves into Cy Young contention. The Twins are unbeaten since Chris Parmelee came up from Rochester. The Twins obviously followed Bert's "keys to the game" last night: 1) Get the offense going; 2) Pitchers put some zeros on the board. If only Bert had thought of that sooner, we'd be in first place! As it is, we're still on track for 86-76!
