2012 Game Logs: Minnesota @ Cleveland

Minnesota: Walters (2-4, 6.70 ERA)
Cleveland: Huff (1-0, 0.00 ERA)

My fellow Twins fans, our long Midwestern nightmare is almost over. The baseball season works; our great schedule is a list of games and not of men. Here the umpires rule. But there is a higher Power, by whatever name we honor Him, who ordains not only righteousness but the starting rotation, not only justice but the bullpen.

As we bind up the internal wounds of the 2012 season, more painful and more poisonous than those of the mid ninties, let us restore the golden rule to our baseball process, and let strikeout pitchers purge the batters box of walks and home runs.

Before closing, I ask again for your prayers, for Joe Mauer and his family. May our former MVP, who brought joy to millions, find it for himself. May God bless and comfort his wonderful fans and family, whose love and loyalty will forever be a shining legacy to all who bear the lonely burdens of the label Jebus.

    1. I see Robbie's mouth move a lot, but I don't know that I've ever heard anything worthwhile come out.

      1. Earlier this game, I heard him say something about hookers and blow. It made me wish I had listened more closely.

  1. I'd really like to make it to the end of this one, but I've got a sleep deficit and I just ran 8 miles, so I'm pretty exhausted. We'll see how it goes.

        1. Way cool. Am doing a half in October - Up to 12 miles this Sat. Haven't been carrying water, but everyone else has, so I think I need to buy something. What do you carry?

          1. Lately I've just been running a 4-mile loop and then stopping at my car to get water, but I also own a Camelbak. I like it, but it gets kinda hot in warmer weather. There's also the issue that it's more weight to carry around. When you get to the point where you're running an hour or more, you definitely need something.

            1. Yeah, our training coach does the Camelbak. I'm thinking plenty of water during the event, but for training will need to get something to avoid the bonk.

              1. Which half are you doing? I'm running the Baltimore half in October and then the big show in Richmond in November.

  2. AAA Championship series is on NBCSN, if you get that channel. Pawtucket BoSawks are involved 🙁

  3. 5 clicks in the stadia, jeesh. In the old days christians/lions would bring them out. Not that I approve of that approach.

  4. the more relievers you bring in, the more likely you are to find the guy who just doesn't have it tonight.

  5. SEND HIM!!SEND HIM!!SEND HIM!!!SEND HIM!!SEND HIM!!SEND HIM!!!!!SEND HIM!!!SEND HIM!!SEND HIM!!!SEND HIM!!SEND HIM!!SEND HIM!!

My first time. How did I do?

  6. You can hear every single one of the thirty five people in attendance on the broadcast tonight.

  7. If the Twins played the Indians 162 times a year they would probably make the playoffs.
