Game 158: Tigers @ Twins

It's Linds and I's fifth anniversary today, so we're going to be sitting right up close to the first base line for this one. The good news is that we'll get to see one of the best pitchers in the major leagues, the bad news is that he'll be pitching against us.

Justin Verlander takes on (digs hand in starting rotation box and pulls out random slip of paper) P.J. Walters.

Oh, yeah. This should be wonderful.

It's the last Saturday game of the year. I expect this game log to be packed when I get home.

  1. I would try to pack it, but I have a wedding this afternoon. The rest of you will have to handle Verlander without me.

  2. Tigers PBP guy, but Tom Verducci as color man. He is not shy in through in modern stats like Defensive Efficiency

  3. PBP guy gets Florimon and Escobar mixed up (Says Florimon came from the Sox in the Liriano trade). To be honest, I think most Twins fans do that too.

  4. 86 walks on the year for Mauer, thats a career high.
Thats the 19th time in Twins history has a batter walked at least 86.
The last time was in 2000 when Matt Lawton walked 91.

  5. Well this game suddenly got interesting. I almost turned it off but I wanted to hear how Mauer did this inning first.

  6. Another comeback falls short. Last home game of the year coming up. Let's make it count. We'll just have to settle for 70-92.
