  1. On second thought it would have been more funny had I used only Canadian born Twins players.

    1. Officially, he's "worn down". It sounds like his wrist is bothering him and affecting his swing.

    1. This ain't no party, this ain't no disco
      This ain't no fooling around
No time for dancing, or lovey dovey
I ain't got time for that now

      1. I know of a guy who once saw some action in the Skydome while there was no game taking place.

  2. So Dazzle just said on the radio how Cabrera "deserves" to win the Triple Crown because he's had to "deal with some off the field stuff." I expect the verbal fellatio for the Yankees, and dislike it, but I really can't stand it for Miguel freaking Cabrera. He's a very good ball player, and a pretty lousy person. He could hit .600 with 100 HRs and it still wouldn't make up for that.

In summary: I'm turning the game off.

    1. it's the same stupid-ass reasoning people to use to prop up Josh Hamilton. People who are deeply flawed and overcome their flaws are seen as heroes. People who are pretty even-keel all the time are not special.

      1. I use five-foot staves to prop up Josh Hamilton. Any shorter, and he's likely to fall over despite them, unless you've got them tied too tight for proper circulation.

    1. Who else can boast a nearly .400 point increase in slugging in these situations?!?

  3. When Mauer comes back tomorrow and takes all three triple-crown stats on the last day of the year, MVP voters are going to be really confused.

    1. He is leading the Twins in players that I named my son after. Is that a triple crown category?

      1. I like Fien a lot. His name sounds like new slang. Just not sure how it fits:

        I'm kitin like a Fien.
        Girl gives up/me the Fien.

        Those aren't right.

    1. Dangnabbit, I looked that up. I shouldn't have:
      Robertson's still got a K/9 of 18.26, and a K/BB of 1.05. Is he a keeper?

        1. Let me rephrase:
"At this point in the season, why am I looking this up? I should have just guessed like this:"

  4. evening, all.

FTLT: i was chatting to the bartender in the united lounge on the way out of buffalo. he asked if i was coming or going. i said the latter. he said, "good, buffalo's a terrible town to live in." i think the locals were depressed by the weather too.

    1. Do you think he said that because he was a bartender at the United lounge?

  5. I am not going to be able to watch the game tomorrow. This could be the last at bat I get to watch of the Twins the season.

  6. Adam Greenberg halved his career OBP and OPS tonight.
Marlins bullpen keeps Dickey from a decision.

    1. Adam Dunn has struck out twice tonight (game now tied in the 10th), one K from tying the single-season K record.

  7. Texas-Oakland just getting started. C'mon, A's and Red Sawks!

I really want to see the Yankmes have to travel out west or to Arlington for the wild card game.

  8. that sucked. even worse, since I was listening to the Yankme feed. Good god! that ponce is worse than Hawk. Ugh.

      1. So, tomorrow, to force a tiebreaker game, Os have to win, Yanks have to lose.
If As win tonight and tomorrow, Rangers travel East for the Play-in game.

  9. A's win again to tie it up in the West. Grant Balfour blew away the heart of the order in the ninth (4-3 on Hamilton, swinging Ks on Beltre and Cruz).

    1. Dodgers got three outs to score one run if they want to make the Cards sweat.
(They also have to score as many runs as the Gints score with their three outs.)

  10. One game left. It's always nice to close out the season with a win. We'll just have to settle for 67-95.
