1. weather's going to get progressively cruddier here in StL as the day goes on, so hopefully the game doesn't drag on badly.

   1. Yeah looks like there could be a delay with this one. Hopefully it will cut into primetime and ruin FOX's schedule.

      1. I don't think there'll be a delay; weather's supposed to just get progressively worse. Wind is gusting pretty good at times.

      the 5pm Simpsons is showing baseball theme episodes this week. today, it was the one where Mark McGwire was the guest voice

   1. my former roommate is a Yankees fan. he has been strangely silent on the Book of Face since the weekend.

5. Now both games in rain delay.

6. TBS is show Seinfeld dueing the rain delay, and its the one where Stienbrenner goes nuts for a calzone

   1. I saw on the ESPN bottom line, officials expect the weather to clear around 8pm central

         Seriously, what is Twitter for if not giving me minute-by-minute updates of how long to baseball? The internet has failed me.
         I'm watching commercials and Brittany Spears and there's not even any baseball to make it worthwhile.

8. ALCS game has Scherzer starting for the Tigers. I asked for a no-hitter from him. I want it. Probably my favorite Tiger just because he has different colored eyes and his mugshot looks really friendly:
   
   If he worked in my office, I'd want to be his friend. Also, he's from St. Louis. If the Tigers face the Cards in the World Series, I figure ESPN will hammer that fact into our ear and eyeholes. "Also, Max Scherzer is from St. Louis and that's where the World Series is opening, and he's playing against his hometown team, the Cardinals. I know Allan said when the Phils/Rays WS game was suspended and resumed despite it being longer than 5 inning and one team having the lead, that he would never let an elimination game in the playoffs be called short for rain. Will he apply this to a non-elimination game? With the Cards play tonight?
    This is why the second WC team is a horrible idea. That team could win some games and play in rainy cities.

11. ESPN says the Cards game will resume at 9:05 central

    1. 9:04 now and very close to resuming.

12. oh man, I want work to purchase of those batter box painters. it takes me something like 5 minutes with the contraption we have.

                      1. You think he'll keep playing that long? Modern medicine keeps advancing, but still it seems unlikely. If he does last that long, it'll probably be as a reliever anyways.

                         1. I was thinking more on the lines of "ceremonial" first pitch, a la Danny Cox the other day, but sure. It could happen.
