2012-13 Game Logs: Game 8 Bobcats @ Wolves

Tonight I will start a new feature where I use trade machine and try and trade Derek Williams to the team the Wolves are playing that night. My goal is for Derek Williams to become aware of this and use it as motivation. That or David Kahn becomes aware of these posts and tries to make these trades.

Tonight, the Charlotte Bobcats!

Yes, I am serious, Gerald Henderson and cap filler.

Henderson is a perfectly serviceable backup two guard which this team is probably going to need a lot of this season. Also it appears that Gerald Henderson is injured and the Wolves could always use more injured players. I know that we all want Biyombo but I can't imagine the Bobcats would give up anything of consequence for Williams.

Do you hear that Williams? Michael Jordan might not even trade an injured Gerald Henderson for you. What do you think about that?

Alright moving on, the Bobcats are a little frisky and are coming off a win last night. The Wolves roster is going to be patchwork at best. If I were a betting man I think the under is going to provide good value tonight at 181.5.

        1. Hell, even I was a 50% dunker in high school.

Huh? And I thought the hoop was always at 10 feet!

  1. I don't think I gave Williams enough time before the game to read this. That missed dunk was embarrassing.

  2. It should come as no surprise that Pek wears a black dress shirt with a black suit when he doesn't play.

  3. Wolves offense.

Step 1) Have Derek William not get back on defense
Step 2) Wait for Bobcats to miss shot
Step 3) AK rebounds ball and sends an outlet pass to Derek Williams.
    Step 4) Williams misses.
    Step 5) Repeat.

      1. Yeah, that should not have nested there. Though I am sure it is just a matter of time before Williams gets blocked.

  4. I am watching on my computer with the sound off. What is the delay to start the quarter?

  5. Blame where blame is do, Murphy Malcolm Lee stinks too. Then again, expectations, etc.

  6. I can't believe I took the Wolves -7 tonight. What the hell was I thinking?

  7. Every time I see Cunningham shoot from 18 ft I want to scream. Then he makes it. At that point I get confused.

  8. When Jim Pete says we could use a Derek Williams explosion, I'm not sure if he's being literal or not.

      1. This is honestly making up for the way the Wolves are playing. I will forget about this game. I don't know if I will ever forget about this haircut.

  9. THAT WAS THE WORST PASS I HAVE EVER SEEN. WILLIAMS F'N ROLLED THAT TO CUNNINGHAM. WHAT WAS THAT?

  10. We're down 13 at the half, missing 6 of our best players--don't worry guys, this game is as good as ours!

  11. After Friday this team gets 4 days off. With the depleted bench those days can't come soon enough.

      1. Williams : Missed tomahawk dunks :: Kirilenko : Important things on a basketball court.

  12. Well, you know what they say: When life gives you lemons, but then takes those lemons away, it's tough to make lemonade. Of course, you can always go to Taco Bell instead, but then you risk getting diarrhea.

  13. You have to give the Wolves play by play team credit, they sure are a positive bunch.

  14. So, seriously, did the Twins hire the Wolves trainers or was it the other way around?

  15. Wait, how do the Wolves have one less point than the Bobcats? Actually, don't bother explaining because I'm not going to believe you anyway.

  16. Blargh. That is about the worst way to lose that I can think of. Suck for 3.5 quarters, furious comeback, fall one shot short.

Hopefully Lee isn't too badly hurt.

  17. I can't even be upset about this game. I got to see Andrew Bynum's new haircut and the Wolves made it interesting at the end.

  18. Wait. The Bobcats are in contention for a playoff spot after seven games? I must have missed the season being cut to ten games.

  19. that games had 23 blocked shots (12 for Charlotte 11 for the Wolves)

the Wolves had 34 points in the 4th quarter

  20. I heard some of the game on the radio while going to and from a meeting. Two points:

    1. Alan Horton is a pretty good play-by-play guy. He's not Kevin Harlan, but he's pretty good.

    2. I was impressed by Adelman's post-game press conference. He did not make excuses, he did not whine about the injuries, he did not consider the comeback any kind of moral victory. He made it clear that he expected the guys he used to be professionals and to play like professionals. He said that they did it sometimes, but doing it sometimes isn't good enough, you need to be able to do it consistently. Not that any of that is great insight, but I liked the attitude he brought to it.

    1. I think Horton is the second best play by play guy in town, behind the Wild's radio man Bob Kurtz. What both have in common is that they will call out the team for not playing well, or boneheaded plays.
I liked what I heard from the Twins new guy, I didnt listen to enough games on the radio to form a good opinion

  21. Thoughts on the game last night:
    1) My gosh, Charlotte really, really, really sucks. They tried their hardest to give away that game by clanking numerous uncontested jumpshots early in the shot clock.
    2) Derrick Williams is playing in slow-motion right now (but not one of those good slow-motions when the guy makes everything look so easy). He's ridiculously indecisive and will not go up with any authority.
    3) Williams's FTs at the end of the game were right in front of me. He was so antsy and anxious (wiping his hands on his shorts, stretching his arms, bobbing his body, etc.) while waiting for the players to get set and the ref to give him the ball. It was obvious that he was going to miss one because he was so antsy he could barely stand still to get the ball.
    4) How can a team with Kahn's obsession with point guards ever play Will Conroy?
    5) The Stiemer has absolutely no hands.
    6) In the first quarter, I told Sheenie they would lose the game because of the free throws they were missing.
    7) There were actually a lot of scalpers outside on the way in. Never seen that before.
    8) Biyombo committed the stupidest foul in the history of basketball, but the Wolves bailed him out by missing both freebies.
    9) Shved had way too many possessions in which he drove and left his feet without having any semblance of a plan. That got him up in the air and made him force numerous bad passes.
    10) AK47 palming Walker's shots twice in the fourth quarter was hilarious.

    1. I didnt know the Wolves had a played called 'Will Conroy', but he was -10 in the 3 minutes he played. So the Wolves pretty much played a game with 8 men, and then Lee was hurt in the 4th making it a 7 man roster. awesomesauce.
