Down Under Daily: Games of 1/11

In appropriately half-bakef fashion, I gave you the games of 1/12 yesterday, due to the difference in time.  I changed the title on yesterday's entry, and now give you the games of 1/11.

BRISBANE 6, CANBERRA 1 IN BRISBANE (COMPLETION OF SUSPENDED GAME)

Twins: Logan Wade (Brisbane) was 0-for-2.

Game summary: All the runs were scored in the second inning.

Canberra: Ryan Stovall (Arizona) was 2-for-4 and scored once. Eric Massingham pitched two perfect innings.

Brisbane: James Albury struck out ten in a complete game, allowing one run on five hits and three walks. Brad Dutton was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in three.

BRISBANE 6, CANBERRA 1 IN BRISBANE (REGULARLY SCHEDULED GAME—7 INNINGS)

Twins: Logan Wade (Brisbane) was 1-for-2.

Game summary: Brisbane scored three in the first and led 4-0 after four. Canberra’s lone run came in the fifth.

Canberra: Kody Hightower was 0-for-1 and walked three times. Michael Wells was 1-for-2 with a double and a walk.

Brisbane: Chuck Lofgren struck out nine in a complete game, allowing one run on three hits and five walks. C. J. Beatty was 2-for-3 with two home runs and five RBIs.

SYDNEY 2, MELBOURNE 0 IN SYDNEY

Twins: James Beresford (Sydney) was 1-for-4.

Game summary: Sydney scored both runs in the fourth inning.

Melbourne: Elliot Biddle was 2-for-4 with a double. John Hussey gave up two runs on four hits and six walks in 5.2 innings.

Sydney: Craig Anderson struck out seven in eight innings, allowing nine hits and no walks. Boss Moanaroa (Boston) was 1-for-1 with two walks and two RBIs.

PERTH 11, ADELAIDE 7 IN PERTH

Game summary: Adelaide led 5-0 after an inning and a half. Perth cut it to 5-4 after three and then scored six in the fourth.

Adelaide: Quincy Latimore (Pittsburgh) was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a walk, scoring once and driving in three. Ji-Man Choi (Seattle) was 2-for-3 with a walk, scoring twice and driving in two.

Perth: Brenden Webb (Baltimore) was 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, and five RBIs. Ryan Khoury was 2-for-3 with a double and scored twice.
