Batting stars: Oswaldo Arcia was 1-for-3 with a home run. Brian Dinkelman was 1-for-4 with a home run.

Pitching star: Kyle Gibson gave up one run on four hits in five innings, walking none and striking out four.

Opposition stars: Anthony Gose was 2-for-4 and scored twice. Ryan Langerhans was 2-for-4. Mickey Storey struck out three in 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing a hit and a walk.

Key inning: The eighth. With the score tied 2-2, Luis Jimenez hit a one-out homer off Anthony Slama for the winning run.

He's still around? The starting pitcher for Buffalo was Ramon Ortiz. He allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out seven in five innings.

NEW BRITAIN 1, RICHMOND 0 IN RICHMOND (COMPLETION OF SUSPENDED GAME)

Batting stars: Danny Santana was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Antoan Richardson was 1-for-2 with a double and a walk.

Pitching stars: Logan Darnell pitched 3.2 scoreless innings before the rains came, giving up four hits and two walks. Blake Martin took over and pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up no hits and one walk while striking out three.

Opposition stars: Adam Duvall was 2-for-4 with a double. Craig Westcott went four shutout innings before it rained, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out three. Fabio Castillo struck out three in three shutout innings, allowing a hit and a walk.

Key inning: The eighth. With two out in a scoreless tie, the Rock Cats loaded the bases with two out on two walks and a hit batsman. Santana then singled in the lone run of the game.

RICHMOND 1, NEW BRITAIN 0 IN RICHMOND (REGULARLY SCHEDULED GAME—SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)

Batting stars: Josmil Pinto and Evan Bigley each walked. The Rock Cats had no hits.

Pitching star: Trevor May gave up one run on three hits and three walks while striking out four in five innings.

Opposition stars: Jack Snodgrass pitched six hitless innings, walking one and striking out two. Mark Minicozzi was 3-for-3 with a double.

Key inning: The seventh. Trailing 1-0, Danny Santana reached on an error. He took second on a one-out walk to Pinto and advanced to third with two out on a wild pitch. Dan Rohlfing then struck out to end the game.

FORT MYERS 4, BRADENTON 1 IN BRADENTON

Batting stars: Kyle Knudson was 1-for-3 with a home run. Kennys Vargas was 1-for-4 with a home run.

Pitching stars: Jason Wheeler pitched five shutout innings, giving up four hits and a walk while striking out three. Miguel Munoz threw two shutout innings, giving up one hit and striking out one.

Opposition stars: Gregory Polanco was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Willy Garcia was 2-for-4.

Key inning: The fourth. In a scoreless tie, Angel Morales led off with a double. Eddie Rosario singled and Miguel Sano walked to load the bases. The Miracle then played Twins Baseball, with Morales scoring on a wild pitch and Rosario scoring on a passed ball to give Fort Myers a 2-0 lead.

CEDAR RAPIDS 3, BELOIT 2 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Batting star: Byron Buxton was 2-for-3 with a home run.

Pitching stars: Hudson Boyd gave up one run on two hits and three walks while striking out three in 4.2 innings. Steven Gruver gave up an unearned run on a hit and two walks while striking out two in 3.1 innings.

Opposition stars: Dakota Bacus pitched five shutout innings of relief, allowing two hits and a walk while striking out nine. Michael Ynoa gave up one run on a hit and two walks in three innings.

Key inning:  The ninth.  Beloit had scored in the eighth to take a 2-1 lead.  Dalton Hicks led off the inning with a single.  With one out, Travis Harrison doubled to tie the score.  Niko Goodrum then singled in Harrison with the winning run.
