Game 6: Twins 4, Orioles 3

Slapadiddlesack gets a win! Multiple rednecks gets the go-ahead RBI after an 0-13 stretch. Perk'n'Play gets the Save in impressive 1-2-3 fashion: 2 strike outs and a Laddie ground out and the Twins win their second series of the season.

Favorite quote from yesterday. When interviewed following the game, his second in the majors, Twins starter Pedro Hernandez said he wasn't nervous in his 2013 debut.

"Not really," [he] said. "This game is for men, this game is not for a child."

Twins are now 4-2, tied with the Pale Hose for the AL Central lead. They head to Kansas City to face Ervin Santana. In his first start for the Royals, Santana gave up 5 runs on 5 hits (3 HR's) and a walk. He also struck out 8.

In other news:

The Wild snap a 3-game losing streak, blanking the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-0. Newest Wild member Jason Pominville notched a goal and an assist and both Suter and Parise had points in the win. The Wild are currently 6th in the Western Conference with a record of 22-14-2, 6 points ahead of 9th place Phoenix and 2 points behind 3rd place Vancouver.

-and-

On Saturday, Rick Adelman notched his 1,000th career win as the Timberwolves beat the Pistons 107-101. He is only the eighth coach in NBA history to win 1,000 games. The Wolves are 6-4 in their last 10 games and showing signs of what the team can do when (mostly) healthy.

-finally-

The Masters kicks off on Thursday (4/11/13). 1st and 2nd Round coverage on the 4letter and weekend Rounds on CBS. *I don't mind watching golf on television, but in this case, with more rain/sleet/snow in the forecast for the upper midwest, I may just hole up in the basement and take in some green grass.

    1. I like that he's able to take pitches and get on base. If being a .300 hitter is not in the cards, then displaying patience and a good eye at the plate make for an excellent alternative.

      1. How is the cut of his jib? Does he battle his tail off? Does he have fire in his belly?

I'm not convinced yet. Talk to me after he moves into the two-hole and proves he can handle the bat, go the other way, get productive outs and do the little things.

  1. Casey Fien is second on the team in strikeouts. I wonder if a starter or a reliever will finish with more strikeouts.

  2. ”Not really,” [he] said. “This game is for men, this game is not for a child.”

I bet Pek would make a good pitcher.
