      1. he slide to the side of the catcher and the ball came out when the catcher lunged to tag.

      1. He was claiming Bert was indignant when Johan walked off after the 8th and tipped his cap, when he could have gone for the record. He'd thrown 112 pitches (NOT 103), and it was a 1-0 game -- I had no problem with that.

        1. I had no problem with it, either, but I wouldn't be as surprised to learn that Bert was indignant about it as I am to learn that Dazzle knows how to correctly use "indignant" in a sentence.

  1. Oh shut up, Dazzle. Even if you don't think so, don't even use the words "hall of fame" and the name "Torii Hunter" in the same question.

    1. "Was Torii Hunter the best Twins CFer since Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett?"

      How about that?

  2. The obvious answer to Cory and Dazzle's question about the next 300-game winner is Jose Berrios.

  3. Oh boy, evidently Nick Punto is the glue that held the Twins together. Him & Tore eye eye.

    1. It would seem that listening to Tigers/Twins broadcasts is pretty much right out for me. Ten minutes of listening to Dazzle worshiping at the altar of II was enough to make me want to turn the station.

      1. Yeah, the Nicky worship was from Dick'n'whoever. Is it Roy today? I haven't been listening that close.

    2. ii was interviewed after got standing O in return to Angel Stadium. Asked about it, he basically said it was a tribute to himself and how he played the game. Never said anything like what great fans they have in Anaheim (or LAAA).

    3. they make glue out of old, broken down or otherwise worthless horses, right? So, sure. Punto.

    1. The other night, Coomer made the observation that if a pitcher can get outs without throwing a lot of pitches, his pitch count won't be as high. Pretty solid insight there, I thought.

  4. Since we've been discussing the Twins broadcasters, this might be a good time to mention that worthless bum Kevin Slowey, whose mere presence on the roster shows what a sorry organization the Marlins have become, now has an ERA of 2.05, a WHIP of 1.01 and an opposition batting average of .232 in six starts (37.2 innings).

  5. Barca-Bayern is just kicking off. It's hard to see a Messi-less Barcelona overcome the four goal deficit, but Real Madrid nearly pulled it off yesterday (though with the added fact of having an away goal in hand). I probably won't tune in unless Barca make it 2-0 early.

  6. still have the lead
but it would be wise for the Twins to put up 2 or 8 more runs.

  7. Twins need to add on runs late against the bullpen like they did against the Rangers.

      1. Twins Aaron Hicks first career triple came on a 101 MPH fastball from Bruce Rondon, the fastest pitch hit for extra bases since 2010— ESPN Stats & Info (@ESPNStatsInfo) May 1, 2013

  8. If I were Willingham, I'd want to forget that 99mph ball coming at my head as quickly as possible.

  9. This could work out perfectly for the Twins. Fien gets the bottom of the order. Burton in the eighth gets the top of the order, which is all righties. Hopefully, then Perkins in the ninth to face Fielder and Martinez. This of course would work only if the relievers have relatively clean innings.

    1. I'm sure I'm suffering from confirmation bias, but it seems like last year was the exact opposite. It always seemed to be the opponent's heart of the order right when was least convenient.

  10. Robben just scored. Bayern are up 5-0 on agg. with an away goal. Barcelona need six in the next 40 minutes to advance.

  11. Scott Diamond joins Kevin Correia and Pedro Hernandez in the Cy Young race! We're still on track for 150-12!
