Game 27: Twins 4, Indians 2 (& the WILD WIN A PLAYOFF GAME!)

Pelfrey strikes out 7 in 6 innings while allowing only 4 hits and 1 run. One of his better outings.

Plouffe! with his 4th homer on the season, a 2-run shot in the 2nd.

M&M Boys with the other 2 RBI.

Perk 'n Play with his 7th save (though he did allow a couple of hits and a run on a solo HR by Santana.

In other news:

The WILD won a playoff game, 3-2 on OT against the Blackhawks. Lots of energy, hits, shots and attitude through about 50 minutes before appearing to take the foot off the pedal and allowing the game-tying goal with 2:46 left in regulation. No matter as Zucker snuck his first goal of the postseason, the game-winner, over Crawford at 2:15 into the extra period. PMB and Parise each had their first goals of the playoffs as well.

LBJ mashes for his fourth MVP, tallying all but 1 first place vote.

Rookie Derek Ernst beat David Lynn in a playoff and took home a $1.2M purse at the Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte, NC. This after Phil Mickelson dropped 2 late bogeys and fell out of the lead after 16. Young Ernst was not even scheduled to play (he was the fourth alternate) but got his chance and cashed in. The best part, according to him, was not the money (yeah right), it was the 2 years of tour play that he gets as a result of winning.

  1. it was the 2 years of tour play that he gets as a result of winning.

In other words, opportunity to make more money.

    1. I don't know...that's a pretty cynical view.

If I made a ton of money on a script, it wouldn't make me all that happy. Success when the movie is produced would make me happy.
