Oswaldo Arcia stays hot at AAA.  Dalton Hicks has a big day for Fort Myers.  Adam Brett Walker II does it again.

ROCHESTER 3, LEHIGH VALLEY 1 IN ROCHESTER

Batting stars:  Oswaldo Arcia was 2-for-3 with a walk and a double, scoring once and driving in one.  Chris Parmelee was 2-for-4.

Pitching stars:  Logan Darnell pitched six shutout innings, giving up four hits and no walks with two strikeouts.  Shairon Martis pitched a perfect inning.

Opposition stars:  Cody Asche was 3-for-4 with an RBI.  Josh Fields was 2-for-4.

Key inning:  The second.  In a scoreless tie, Arcia hit a one-out double and scored on a two-out single by Ray Olmedo to give the Red Wings an early lead.

Prospect watch:  Antoan Richardson was 0-for-4 with a walk

PORTLAND 5, NEW BRITAIN 4 IN NEW BRITAIN (GAME 1--SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)

Batting stars:  Daniel Ortiz was 3-for-3 with a double and a home run (his ninth), scoring three times.  Adam Pettersen was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.  Jordan Parraz was 1-for-2 with a walk and a two-run homer, his eighth.

Pitching star:  Matt Hauser struck out five in 3.1 innings of relief, giving up one run on two hits and no walks.

Opposition stars:  Heiker Meneses was 2-for-3 with a double and scored once.  Garin Cecchini was 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.  Tony Thomas was 1-for-3 with a three-run homer.

Key inning:  The fifth.  The Rock Cats had scored in the fourth to cut the lead to 4-3.  In the fifth, Cecchini singled, stole second and scored on a single by Michael Almanzar to give the SeaDogs an insurance run.

Prospect watch:  Miguel Sano was 1-for-2 with two walks.  Josmil Pinto was 0-for-4.

PORTLAND 8, NEW BRITAIN 3 IN NEW BRITAIN (GAME 2--9 INNINGS--SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)

Batting stars:  Angel Morales was 2-for-3 with a home run, his third.  Miguel Sano was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer, his ninth.

Pitching star:  D. J. Baxendale pitched six innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts.

Opposition stars:  Matt Spring was 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs.  Ronald Bermudez was 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI.  Garin Cecchini was 2-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.

Key inning:  The ninth.  In a 3-3 tie, Spring and Ryan Dent started the inning with back-to-back homers.  A walk and a Cecchini double made it 6-3.  Michael Almanzar singled to make it 7-3, went to second on the throw home, and scored on a Bermudez single to give the SeaDogs an 8-3 lead.

Prospect watch:  Josmil Pinto was 0-for-4.

FORT MYERS 10, BREVARD COUNTY 3 IN BREVARD COUNTY

Batting stars:  Dalton Hicks was 3-for-4 with two walks and a home run, scoring four times and driving in three.  Stephen Wickens was 3-for-4 with a walk and three RBIs.  Matt Koch was 2-for-5 with a walk, scoring once and driving in three.

Pitching stars:  Tyler Duffey struck out ten in seven innings, giving up three runs on five hits and a walk.  Nelvin Fuentes pitched two shutout innings, giving up no hits and one walk with one strikeout.

Opposition stars:  None.

Key inning:  The seventh.  The Miracle led 3-2.  A walk, a Hicks single, and an error produced the first run.  Singles by Koch, Mike Kvasnicka, and Wickens led to two more and gave Fort Myers a 6-2 lead.  The Manatees got one back in the bottom of the inning but never got closer than that.

Prospect watch:  Byron Buxton was 0-for-5 with a walk and scored once.  Aderlin Mejia was 2-for-5 with a walk and scored twice.  Kvasnicka was 2-for-5 with a walk.

CEDAR RAPIDS 11, FORT WAYNE 4 IN FORT WAYNE

Batting stars:  Adam Brett Walker II was 3-for-5 with a double and a home run (his twenty-second), scoring twice and driving in three.  Jorge Polanco was 3-for-5 with a walk and scored three times.  Mike Gonzales was 3-for-4 with a walk and a double, scoring twice and driving in two.

Pitching stars:  Jose Berrios pitched six innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on eight hits and a walk with four strikeouts.  Alex Muren pitched a scoreless inning, giving up only a walk.  Dallas Gallant pitched a scoreless inning, giving up no hits and one walk while striking out one.

Opposition stars:  Mallex Smith was 2-for-4 with a walk and a double and scored twice.  Gabriel Quintana was 2-for-4 with a triple.

Key inning:  The third.  The score was tied at two.  Two singles and a walk loaded the bases with one out.  Max Kepler hit a two-run single, a hit batsman re-loaded the bases, Joel Licon hit a two-run double, and another run scored on a wild pitch.  The Kernels got five in the inning for a 7-2 lead and were never threatened.

Prospect watch:  Kepler was 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs.

DANVILLE AT ELIZABETHTON

The game was suspended in the bottom of the fifth.  The score was tied at three, but the Twins had runners on first and second with one out.

GCL TWINS 5, GCL RAYS 4 AT TWINS (COMPLETION OF SUSPENDED GAME)

Batting stars:  Mike Gonzales was 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI.  Zach Larson was 1-for-3 with a walk, scoring twice and driving in one.

Pitching stars:  Sam Gibbons pitched two shutout innings despite giving up two hits and two walks, striking out one.  Jose Abreu pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.  Daniel Sattler pitched a perfect inning.

Opposition stars:  Jhefferson Hurtado pitched three innings, allowing an unearned run on no hits and one walk with two strikeouts.  Jose Paez was 2-for-4 with a triple, scoring once and driving in one.  Taylor Hawkins was 2-for-4 and scored once.

Key inning:  The eighth.  The score was tied at four.  Larson led off with a walk, went to second on a bunt, took third on an error, and scored on another error to give the Twins the lead.

Prospect watch:  Amaurys Minier was 1-for-4 with a triple.

GCL RAYS 13, GCL TWINS 6 AT RAYS (REGULARLY SCHEDULED GAME)

Batting stars:  Zach Larson was 3-for-4 with a walk, scoring twice and driving in one.  Chad Christensen was 3-for-5 with a double and scored twice.  Amaurys Minier was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer, his fifth.

Pitching stars:  Alex Wimmers struck out four in 3.1 innings, giving up one run on five hits and a walk.  Reyson Zoquiel gave up an unearned run on a hit and a walk in one inning.  Josh Guyer pitched a scoreless inning with one strikeout despite giving up one hit and two walks.

Opposition stars:  Jose Paez was 4-for-5 with a double and scored twice.  Nick Ciuffo was 3-for-5 with a walk, scoring twice and driving in two.  Ryan Henley was 3-for-6, scoring once and driving in two.

Key inning:  The fifth.  Trailing 2-1, the Rays struck for eight.  The Rays had seven singles in the inning.  The Twins made three errors in the inning and made eight errors in the game, leading to eight unearned runs.

Prospect watch:  Adonis Pacheco was 1-for-5 with a double.  Kohl Stewart pitched two innings of relief, giving up three runs (one earned) on two hits and no walks with two strikeouts.

DSL REDS 6, DSL TWINS 3 AT TWINS

Batting stars:  Frank Encarnacion was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.  Manuel Guzman was 1-for-3 with a walk and scored twice.  Rafael P. Valera was 1-for-3 with a walk.

Pitching star:  Onesimo Hernandez pitched five innings of relief, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out four.

Opposition stars:  Jose De Sousa pitched five shutout innings, allowing two hits and two walks with three strikeouts.  Francis Guerrero was 3-for-4 with three doubles and scored once.  Jose Siri was 4-for-4 with two RBIs.

Key inning:  The sixth.  The Twins had cut a 4-1 deficit to 4-3.  With two out and none on, Guerrero doubled and Michael Beltre tripled to make it 5-3.  Beltre later scored on an error to increase the lead to 6-3.

Prospect watch:  Dubal Baez was 1-for-4.  Francis Mateo was 1-for-4 with a double.
