  1. The Royals broadcast keeps focusing on the bird on the field, like it's going to become important later.

    1. I get horrible problems as work with gameday not actively updating.
I often have to go to cbssports.com (which gives me the same problems for their score tracker) and refresh the simpler HTML Play-by-play and Boxscore.

    1. He needs to be removed from the rotation. And I am fully aware that whoever they call up is unlikely to be a whole hell of a lot better but I don't particularly care at this point.

      1. Rochester – LHP Andrew Albers - 6 GS, 4-2, 2.23 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, 40.1 IP, 32 H, 8 BB, 36 K

Albers was the June winner in this category and he was about as good in July. There is no question that the 27-year-old has been the most consistent starting pitcher in the upper levels of the Twins organization (including the big leagues). Like Lee, Albers has now finished July with back-to-back complete games. He also ends July as the International League leader in strikeouts. Overall, Albers is 11-5 with a 2.86 ERA in 22 starts. Although he doesn’t throw terribly hard, he has 116 strikeouts in 132 innings. One hopes that at some point this year Albers will get an opportunity to make his big league debut with the Twins.

  2. Swizzlestick has the most thankless job in baseball. Mop-up pitcher for a terrible team.

  3. Yes, this game was kind of depressing. But the Twins showed they will not stand for this! They acted! They made strong roster moves! That shows that this setback, while disheartening, was merely temporary! We'll just have to settle for 102-60!
