    1. I can't imagine paying to do grounds crew work.

I'd be bidding on the Buxton/Sano jerseys if I had hundreds of dollars of disposable income.

      1. if I had money laying around, I would:
        a. buy a car
        b. go to more Twins game
        c. go to Twins game in the higher end seats.

  1. Mike Berardino ‏@MikeBerardino
Remember that late movement Drew Butera was talking about with Albers? Saskatchewan Express just broke bats of Butler, Gordon in succession

'Saskatchewan Express' is an awesome nickname.

  2. I know I've mentioned it before, but I really get a kick out of it when a team has scored more runs than they have hits. There should really be an acronym for that, like AMR's BOSO.

      1. Matt Fox faced 21 batters in his 5.2 innings. Plus he's right-handed. Therefore, obviously Santana.

    1. Blew right past that 5 inning limit. What's the last time a Twins starter pitched in the eighth inning? Has it been done this season?

      1. Only one pitcher has finished eight innings, and he did it twice. As best as I can tell, June 11 was the last time a Twins started pitched in the eighth.

        1. Correction. Only once before tonight has a Twins starter completed eight innings. Only three times has a starter gotten at least 22 outs.

  3. I've spent since about 3 PM this afternoon trying to get Titanium to work on my laptop so I can start to learn to code mobile apps. If I was doing this on XP, I'd be done by now, but I barely understand Linux, so it's taking awhile.

  4. Albers is the third Twins player to wear #63 in a real game. Can you name the other two players?

    Spoiler SelectShow
    1. I considered a careful probing of my memory, but then just hit "spoiler".
Glad I did: I wouldna had neither.

    1. Royals guys are calling him the Fresh Prince of Kauffman.

Sidebar: I think it's funny that that show was so popular, people refer to him as the Fresh Prince even after he's become a mationwide #1 box office draw.

  5. Root canal went well today, jaw's a little sore but the toothache is gone. I don't like having to chew on just one side, but the wife's chicken pot pie makes up for the hassle. Also, got a script for Vicodin so I'm looking forward to my first full night's sleep in five days.

        1. You must be using the wrong Google. Or you have some very, very strict SafeSearch parameters.

      1. I swear, that page was not at the top of the google results when I searched. Or maybe I just didn't click the top result because I've been conditioned against it.

  6. Wait, it's the 8th inning and the starter is still in the game. Is that allowed? I thought that was against the rules or summit.

    1. They also have the letters of ALBERS painted on their bare chests. The Royal feed has shown them at least seven times for some reason.

        1. Whoa, they just showed them again, but this time for a long time.

It's actually five guys with TWINS on their chest, but only four are real people, while the fifth is a cardboard cutout to complete the word.

  7. Royal feed points out that Andrew Albers would be the first debuting pitcher to throw a shutout since Andy van Hecken in 2002 (he went on to pitch in five major league games).

  8. It's nice that Albers can sit with Morneau in the dugout and talk in Canadian. I'm sure it helps him get over the language barrier being here in the us of a.

    1. Bit earlier than I expected, but I can't blame him. Fourth time through the order, platoon disadvantage, and he was clearly tiring.

  9. What in Saskatchewan is going on? A Twins pitcher going 8 scoreless? Where's he been all season? And how soon before he fizzles out like all the others?

        1. That's the first time I've ever played along with the FIRE GARDY AND VARVA bit, and I was immediately negatively reinforced. Lesson learned.

  10. Seriously, what an awesome night for Andrew Albers. God knows how the rest of his career will go, but no matter what happens, he'll at least always have this one night. And we're still on track for 101-61!
