    1. Having watched a number of very entertaining but ultimately losing Chelsea efforts against ManU in EPL play, I guess I'll take a draw away in kind of a boring match.

      1. There were some pretty wild scoring chances, but I realized later that while at work, I was seeing almost all of them while seeing very little of the plod that was going on otherwise.

      Oh, snap. I just went outside to see if this was still true, and things have changed since this morning. It's 105, and there's still enough moisture in the air that I sort of couldn't breathe. Never mind!

      1. From what I understand, the teams rotate. Each of the six Fall League teams are made up of five of the MLB team's prospects, but from year to year, they're not the same ones. I'm not sure why they do it that way, but they do.

  7. House destroyed by fire a block from home. Runner daughter wasn't the first to call, but it still took 10 minutes for emergency vehicles to arrive. Looks like it was the BBQ tank out back?

        1. I was a renter. I'm glad to hear everyone was out, but this will eff up their lives for a long time. It took me 10 months to settle with my insurance, and even then they hosed me. I basically lost a year, and caused some pretty deep damage to significant relationships, because of that fire. Man.

  9. Jozy Altidore got his first goal for Sunderland today in their cup match. Just in time too, his goal was the first of three in the final ~10 minutes to come back from down 0-2.

    2. I knew Kubes wasn't hitting as well as last year but I don't know he was posting that low of numbers.

      1. yea, he's been just awful this year (after being really good last year). Shoulda signed Hinske.

        1. I wonder if he is injured with one of those nagging things that affects performance but players don't mention. His numbers this year are pretty out of line with the rest of his career.
