Reset.

So.

Last post I went on and on about doing this Clean program (flush out the toxins, blah blah blah).  That was the Intent. I started out kinda OK (didn't read that I wasn't supposed to have caffeine (deal breaker) soy, or wine.  Natch.  But I was getting in the morning Smoothie, and the evening soup.

Then Life interrupted with a funeral in Minny, working remote, and a 4 hour drive both ways to Park Rapids.  On incredibly slippery roads.

I somehow managed to avoid the ditches on the long drive up, but not so much luck when walking down the driveway in Scandia.  I slipped on the ice, did an aerial, and hit the ground hard.  Right elbow is bruised, and also took it pretty good in the keyster.

Back in H'istan, I went to the club tonite and was able to do several laps in the pool (with some pain).  Might be a whilst before I start running, we'll see.  Had a nice smoothie this morning (thanks to NBBW) and homemade chicken soup for dinner.   The cosmonaut abides...

  1. I am going to make a concerted attempt over Lent to make up the ground that I lost the last six months or so. I went to the gym the last two nights and got back on my diet. I will be going on a cruise in a week and a half, but I plan to work out there, too. I feel pretty bad about what I allowed to happen here after all my hard work. I gained back half of what I had lost, which is a lot of weight. So now I have to get going again.

  2. Good luck, NBB&Boss.

I've surprisingly kept up with my running program the past several weeks (just got a run in over lunch), but I've wanted to introduce something secondary, as in some strength building or something similar. I've heard cardio is fine on its own but it really should be paired with something like that. Anyone know of any good resources?

    1. I've really been just a cardio-guy for the last couple of years, so not a good source of advice. I do like swimming and biking also - maybe train for a triathlon?

Some random thots: get a trainer, do P90X in your basement, Bikram yoga (this is really tough, you have to like not mind sweating, do Parkour, get-a-big-tire-and-a-sledge-hammer-and-hit-it-repeatedly…

  3. Swam last nite - some pain.

Ran and swam tonite - edge of pain. Fingers crossed, hope I am past this last inconvenience.
