  1. I think Berrios won't be in Fort Myers much longer. I wonder how long Gilmartin will be at AA. He was sent back due to a roster crunch and can clearly handle that level. Maybe he and Diamond need to swap places.

    1. Unless Diamond is still dealing with injury issues, I don't see much a future for him, and he really shouldn't be allowed to block anyone's path.

    2. From Rotoworld:

Twins prospect RHP Jose Berrios turned in his best start of the season on Sunday, as he fired a one-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts for High-A Fort Myers.
The 20-year-old has been dominant over the last month, with a 4-0 record, 0.86 ERA, .167 BAA and 45/10 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 31 1/3 innings spanning five starts. Berrios has worked at least six innings in seven of his 10 starts this season, and he's completed exactly seven frames in both of his double-digit strikeout performances. Overall, the right-hander owns a 2.24 ERA and 65/17 strikeout-to-walk ratio through 56.1 innings this season for Fort Myers.

He's also the youngest pitcher in the FSL. The only younger player is Arcia's little brother, who is a shortstop with very little power.

  2. I also wonder if Romero will be called up. After last year, he seemed like an easy replacement for Plouffe. This year's version of Plouffe has been worth 1.4 fWAR in a third of a season with positive defense at third. The two failed shortstops could both post four-win seasons at their new positions.

    1. I doubt that Romero will come up unless Plouffe gets hurt. Romero's already 27, so he's probably not going to get a whole lot better than he is. He'd basically be a stopgap, not a long-term solution.

  3. A slugger named D. Ortiz? Bring him up, for goodness sake! A chance to right historic wrongs!
