Game Recap #58: Minnesota 5, Milwaukee 8

Mailing it in.

I was in meetings all night and got back in time to see the last out.  It looks like Arcia hit a grand slam in the third and the Twins didn't do a whole lot on offense after that.  A 4-0 lead after three is a good thing.  Unfortunately, the offensive goal was to score more runs than Kevin Correia could give up.  Four was not enough.

I did see the post-game show.  I felt that Gardy did not handle things in a very professional manner.   Don't get me wrong, it's not like it was the worst thing I've ever seen or anything.  I'm not saying he should be fired or even disciplined for it.  But Gardy was clearly upset, and he chose to take it out on the reporters.  We've probably all done things like that, but it's not the proper way to handle things.  Part of the job of being a manager is to be able to deal with reporters after tough losses.  Gardy didn't do a very good job of it last night.

But today is a new day.  The Twins now take on Houston.  The Astros are doing better than expected, but only because expectations for them were even lower than for the Twins.  Houston will throw Dallas Keuchel, who has actually pitched very well this year.  The Twins counter with Staff Ace Phil Hughes.  Sounds like a win to me!  In fact, it sounds like the start of a one hundred four-game winning streak!  We'll just have to settle for 132-30!
