Online-Only hidden Bonus Track: SelectShow

I've never made a mix out of tracks others have selected before. It's different and took me a lot longer than if I'd picked 20 or so tracks myself.
The Guided by Voices track created the most problems for me. I'm still not satisfied with where I put it.
It turns out I liked Zack's list the best.

Thanks everyone for your submissions! Have a wonderful Independence Day Weekend! And may all your Christmases be white!

Late-breaking bonus: I just received notification that I passed my final Actuarial Paper thing. (Technically, my DMAC Project "Meets Minimum Requirements".) I'll present it in Vancouver at the very end of August and then I'll never ever have to learn anything ever again. Happy Independence Day to me! "Raise your Flag!"

            1. No. Well, I found Elite Gymnastics, just not that track. It's listed as AMR bonus above, distinct from the super secret internet only spoiler'd Randy Newman track. I did find that one.

    1. Here's an MP3 of #15.
It was a free online-only release, but it looks like the band called it quits last year, and purged most of the content on their website (which was just a tumblr).
      Here's a soundcloud link.

The radio edit was necessary to let me fit everything onto a single CD*, which was my own self-applied constraint.

*except the online-only hidden bonus track which seemed like an awesome idea yesterday when I listened to it, as a great pairing with the Bragg track (which was the first song I knew where it went: "That's the last one!"), but after some separation, I'm not so sure. Feel free to exclude it.

    2. I'm listening and enjoying, but for some reason Spotify is only giving me the option of listening to the tracks shuffled, rather than in order. I've never used Spotify before, so I'm not sure if I missed a way to listen in order. If it matters, I'm listening through the Spotify app on what is essentially an iPod touch.

      1. Is there a little twisty arrow that is green near the bottom? On the Iphone app you touch that and the arrows turn white and will play the tracks in order.

        1. Okay, just tried it. Apparently I can only listen to the tracks in order if I upgrade to premium. Huh.

Anyway, it's enjoyable all the same. I just got New Guy's track, though, and it kind of creeped me out.

            Cash grab.

    3. Thanks, Scot.

Speaking of Spotify, I just went through and followed a bunch of Citizens. I'm acm006 if anyone's interested in having "Andrew listened to Party in the USA" in their feed three times a day.

  1. Tracks 2 & 9 would have been my second and third on my list, so I didn't list them as they'd already been mentioned.

    1. I honestly cheated and looked up who had added #2 to their list, so that mine wasn't redundant. I mean, it absolutely needs to be on a WGOM summer mix, but if it had already been put on there, I did have more tunes to add.

  2. Haven't had a chance to listen yet, but the fact that you put 21 as closer tells me this should be good. That song is a perfect final taste.

    1. Like I said, it was the obvious closer from the start (especially because I didn't have to decide y/n on it).

  3. "Hey Jude" - Wilson Pickett Hey Jude
    "Sledgehammer"- Peter Gabriel So
    "Candy O" - The Cars Candy O
"The Guns of Brixton" - The Clash London Calling
"Every Day I Write the Book" - Elvis Costello Punch the Clock

"Happy Town" - The Replacements All Shook Down
    "Help!" - The Beatles Help!
"Radiation Vibe" - Fountains of Wayne Fountains of Wayne
"All Over You" - Live Throwing Copper
"If I Should Fall From Grace With God" - The Pogues If I Should Fall From Grace With God

  4. Wow great stuff here. Glad E-6 included The Promise, that song is awesome. Only stinker for me was that treehouse song.
