  1. So the Twins are now second in the majors in doubles, 10 behind the Tigers. Let's close that gap a little more today.

Danny Santana has the third highest WAR among AL rookies this year.

  2. Yes. I had gotten up to pee at 3:10. Soon after I got back in bed, the house started rolling back-n-forth. Neighbor's pool began churning like surf, splashing regularly from side to side.

But no damage here. Napa was hit moderately hard. Some 15,000 without power this morning, but no deaths reported, I think.

Even with the win, 38 runs allowed by #Tigers pitching this series are their most in a 3-game stretch since 1996. That team had a 6.38 ERA.

Twins doing some damage this series.

  4. of my vices an occasional cigar is one of my most enjoyed. I just happened across a tobaconist that carried a wide range of cigars made in a country we currently embargo. I'll be enjoying this monte on the stoop of my host's house tonight overlooking the north irish sea with a small glass of finely made single malt irish whisky.

    1. I had an old GF from Toronto who gave me a box of Cohibas for Christmas one year. Man, I'd sure like to get my hands on some of those bad boys again.

  5. this is kewt. Might under-value Minnesota a tad and over-value Wisconsin a tad, but overall a credible effort at ranking the states. On top-ranked Oregon,

But that’s just one city in a state full of amazing brewers dotting the state, from the coastal Pelican to the high dessert’s 10 Barrel, mid-state’s Ninkasi, Southern Oregon’s uncleverly named Southern Oregon Brewing, Mt. Hood’s Double Mountain... basically, if you enter a city or town in Oregon without a solid brewery, you’ve probably crossed into Washington or Idaho. Or maybe the capital of Salem... which sucks. But you’ll still find a great brewpub serving some of the best beer in America, made in Oregon, with Oregon hops, by a bearded Oregonian who’s probably in a band that sucks... that’s the Oregon way.

    1. the autors missed both marble (NM) and NOLA (LA). While I don't think either merrit change in ranking, both are notable metnions.

      1. I think the fact that the authors MISSED SCHELL'S means they were just just lucky that the overall pattern of rankings made sense to me.
Broken clocks and twice per day, Blind Squirrels and nuts, and all that.
