  1. Spooky, call your sister! Actually, I need to call my sister today too. Or maybe since you have the day off, you can call her for me and wish her happy birthday?

  2. It's not Friday, but I'd just like to put a plug out for the new Cymbals Eat Guitars album LOSE. It's so, so, so good.

  3. CdLers who aren't paying attention until the next game starts in two and a half weeks: there's going to be a get-together on the night of September 3rd at an undetermined location. WGOMers who don't play CdL games, which is really not that many of you, this is likely my only shot to see you as well unless someone (or several someones) wants to go to Target Field on the 2nd to see the Twins climb out of the cellar with a win against the White Sox.

  4. Chastised by my boss's boss for the mini-caucus last Thursday!
"When hosting guests, you shouldn’t make plans to meet others."
He had a point. I think I was gone two innings.

    1. I'd have been tempted to wonder aloud about the differences between hosting and babysitting. Is it so wrong to give guests a break from feeling obligated to be "on" and constantly interacting with their host? Particularly when they're in a setting where they could just relax a bit if the host isn't constantly hovering over them?

    2. 2 innings wasn't nearly enough, either. We have to do that again but in the same row. Added benefit, we wouldn't miss all the scoring!

      1. Agreed! I like to think that we created some sort of mystical WGOM force when we were all together that brought about all that scoring.

      2. I have an Aunt-in-law who is a season-ticket holder in section 104 (or 105). She has a tough time making games, so I could give her a standing request to let me know of opportunities to check and see if a mini-caucus wants to pick up the four seats.

        1. Zee - You should specifically ask about the Sept 19-21 games. The only 2 wins I've seen in person this season, both came against the Clevelands.
Pepper - mark it on your calendar.

  5. Buxton, Rosario and Kepler are returning to the AFL. The Twins are also sending Nick Burdi, Mason Melotakis and Taylor Rogers. Burdi can approach triple digits on the radar gun and I think Melotakis can as well or pretty close.

    1. they really, really don't want Buxton to ever reach the Majors, do they? Another stint in the AFCL?

  6. HA!

Elias has determined that Twins/Senators have 9,999 HRs all-time. Research involved news account of a 1908 game. Gardy: "Was it Sid's?"

        1. Actually my LTE was kinda a dig in that I used to take the FIL to the maid-rite in A.L. and now it is... Let's just say we're going to the Legion now.

    1. I caught 5 minutes of the Minnesota Sports Show this past Sunday. Sid was always a joke but it is just sad now. LEN3 and Reusse just talked over him and ignored him.

  7. Twins on the big screen tonite πŸ™‚ But no game log πŸ™ I'll hang out in the CoC.

  8. Did anyone else get the email from MLB that MLB.tv Premium is $12 for the rest of the year? Sign me up for listening to Vin Scully while I drift off to sleep.

      1. rhymes-with-Porneau breaks up the no-no with a double in the 7th.

Absolutely dominating performance by Bumgarner. 12 or 13 Ks, all but one swinging. The one hit was a lunging swing that pulled the ball into the RF corner. Did not hit 100 pitches until the 9th.
