November 18, 2014: Orphan Reference

I often find myself wanting to quote a movie that I saw on Mystery Science Theater 3000 and I have to remind myself that very few people have seen them, even in MST3K form.

    1. Well, I might need to set aside some time tonight to watch an MSTK3000 and this song has sparked that.

    1. Today I broke out the light jacket to walk the kids to the bus. Turns out I could have skipped the light jacket this year and gone straight to the heavy one. Just two weeks ago it was still irritatingly warm most mornings.

    2. 10 degrees on the walk to the bus. After last winter, I've gotten smarter about how to dress warmly without extra bulk and had no problems this morning. Of course, it helps when the bus is on time.

      1. A bus shelter was built at our stop in the last couple of weeks, which is nice since the stop is completely exposed on the east end of one of the lakes here in town. It's often breezy and frequently blustery out there in the morning. Unfortunately, whoever designed the stop decided to place the opening to the shelter on the corner most exposed to the wind. If they had just poured a slightly larger pad they could have put the entrance/exit opening on either side to keep the shelter handicapped accessible while preventing any substantial breeze from turning all but one corner of the shelter into a sub-zero wind tunnel.

Whoa! A map of Midichlorian migration patterns?

    1. I actually thought the White Sox would sign him. Just seems like with the way that ballpark plays (bandbox) and the loss of Konerko and Dunn, they needed a replacement.
