  1. Well, I had my doubts, and they were confirmed: the railroad's HR department is swamped with year-end benefit updates and holidays, and my conversion to employee is being delayed. I didn't expect it to be until the end of March, though. Looks like I have another quarter of consulting to go.

  2. Watching India vs. Australia Test Match in Adelaide - India just lost their 8th wicket - the End is Near.

I was intrigued by an Ad along the stands #theHCG. Zingers - a hoot. Superb outing by Nathan Lyon.

    1. Cheering for the mostly crappy Minnesota teams that we have around here could make a guy wonder what it would be like to cheer for a winner. Then, there is NDSU football.

In my lifetime (50 seasons), they have won 11 National Championships (and are still alive for a 12th), 27 conference championships, 51 post-season games, and 454 games overall (that's over nine wins a season. For 50 years). In the past four seasons, they are 18-0 in games in the playoffs or against FBS teams. Despite playing in a football conference with no national visibility, they have become a darling on the biggest sports outlet in the country. They almost never get blown out. They almost always seem to win the close games.

There are very few sports teams at any level or in any sport with the sustained level of success of Bison football. It doesn't matter who the coach is or the AD or the president. They just win. And win. And win. When you are a Bison football fan, you NEVER have to rationalize about the team. You never have to bemoan scheduling or anything. You just enjoy the ride.

I'm here to tell you, it's a helluva lot of fun.

    1. I know I'm probably the last guy around who thinks Parmelee can play, but this makes no sense. There's room for Eric Fyrer on the forty-man roster, but not Chris Parmelee? There's room for Eduardo Nunez, but not Chris Parmelee? There's room for Jordan Schafer, but not Chris Parmelee?

I'll always wonder what would've happened if Gardy had just put him out there and let him play.

      1. I'm thinking they (and Herrmmaann) are all replacement-level players, which shows we have too much of that on the roster. At least we're replacing a part like Parmelee with one like Santana.

    2. And with that, the Twins have 0 players they drafted in 2006 on the 40 man.
Im surprised the Twins did not nab JD Martinez last year. We all know how the organization loves to bring players they drafted but did not sign.

        1. Sounds like an arbitrage opportunity. Bootsy, fill your car up with Surly and drive to Sconnie. Sell that stuff out of the trunk of your car.
