  1. I'm still trying to figure out how spooky would go about moderating CdL games in person.

Spooky: "A reminder, Survivors, you have 10 minutes to submit."
    Contestant: "Ok, thanks."
    ...
Spooky: "You, ah, going to give me an answer?"
    Contestant: "Yep. All over it."
[Contestant suits up for a run. Departs.]
    Spooky: "Crap, gang."

      1. Well to be fair you are comparing national viewing numbers to world wide viewing numbers so let's go with 5 times. Another way to think about is that about 9 percent of the world's population will be watching a regular season soccer match.

        1. I saw an article in 2010 saying only a couple million people outside the U.S. watched the Super Bowl and most were ex pats (U.S. not N.E.), so I felt pretty safe at 6x. I guess U.S. numbers was about 111 million, so more accurate would be almost 6x instead of about.

    1. I turned it on in NBC's (garbage) app only to be visually assaulted with super bowl images all over the set. Why are they doing a soccer pregame from there?

    1. At this point, Sports Illustrated's Peter King can't speak when NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is drinking a glass of water.

      That's good stuff right there.

The more the NFL does/says, the better I feel about my decision to hate it and do everything in my power to keep my son from wanting to play.

    2. I watched the Commish press conference at work today. In most any other job, Roger Goodell would have been fired or demoted because of his lack of speaking skills for such a high profile position. But since he is making the owner Scrooge McDuck level money every day, he is safe.

Bud Selig comes off as a brilliant leader compared to Goodell.

  2. I found this interesting... Keith Law ranked Berrios #97 in his top 100 prospects. MLB.com (I think Jim Callis worked on their rankings) had him at #32. That's a sizable difference.

    1. Law is really stuck on Berrios' height (or lack thereof). Sporting News had Berrios 40th at midseason last year. BA and John Sickels both rank Berrios ahead of Stewart and Meyer.

      1. After all the advancement the baseball world has made in the last decade or so when it comes to judging players by advanced stats, judging players by height seems so 1950s.

          1. Berrios is listed at 6 foot
Johan Santana was listed at 6 foot and did pretty well for himself.
