  1. I am heading to Phoenix area today. Any chance you are going to be in the far southern suburbs?

  2. the Girl missed the whole week of school this week, with Pertussis-like symptoms. Yes, her vaccinations are up-to-date. Tests came back inconclusive, but antibiotics (obtained thursday) are already having a big impact, so it pretty clearly was some sort of bacterial infection.

I had something similar this summer and it took a month before I was fully recovered. Looks like she won't be playing her sax at the big Valentine's Day dinner-dance fundraiser. Boo.

    1. I had pertussis like symptoms a few years ago that turned out to be pulmonary embolisms in both lungs. Good to hear that wasn't her problem.

As close as I probably was to dying, combined with the three trips to the emergency room with a misdiagnosis, I should have made a malpractice claim.

  3. Too bad y'all aren't in the Vegas airport. I'm drying my liver out before carnival kicks off by taking a weekend off in Vegas. Oh, wait.

    1. And they actually expanded a lead late in the game instead of letting one slip through the fingers!

  4. People get all up in arms about the baseball HoF voting, but at least some of those voters release their ballots to the public. In the NFL, its a bunch of writers in a room and they elect some people and they are sworn to secrecy.

Im not sure if the ballots are released for the NFL awards, but Aaron Rogers won MVP and JJ Watts finished second. Bobby Wagner, a linebacker for the Seahawks who missed 5 games this season, got 1 vote. The thing is, JJ Watt got all the votes for Defensive POtY. So Wagner was not worthy enough to get a DPOY vote, but an MVP vote?

    1. I am so glad the BBWAA releases all votes for the end-of-season awards. The writers and fans must do better about the discussion around it, but the whole transparency of it at least fosters something positive.

  5. I made french toast with cinnamon bread this morning. Thats a game changer.
Why did it take me 35 years to figure this out?

    1. I've recently started finishing my French toast with a sprinkle of brown sugar and a little time under the broiler for it to caramelize. Also a game changer. Will need to try cinnamon bread too.
