Game Log: Minnesota Wild @ Chicago Blackhawks, Game 2

The bad start cost the Wild in game 1.  Hopefully, they can avoid falling that far behind in this one.

The Wild won 2 of 3 on the road in the first round, and to win this series they have to win at least one road game.  Let's make it this one just for the heck of it.

Historical pessimism:

The Wild still haven't won a playoff game in Chicago (0 for 7).

  1. Vanek gets pushed into the goalie, gets called for interference. DUMB

  2. Ugh, The bartender at my local is a 'hawks fan. I'm debating the hangover + having to listen to him vs following at home....

      1. There's just a sense of inevitability with the Blackhawks as they just wait and wait and wait and then pounce.

          1. Get a little sloppy trying to hold the zone on the power play? That's a goal.
Get a little aggressive in the final seconds of a period? That's a goal.
Get a little sloppy on a line change? That's a goal.

  3. Minus Game 4, the Wild never felt out of any game in round 1. Even when they trailed, they were taking play to the Blues at least in spurts and shifts.

Didn't see that tonight. I hope home-cooking does some good for them.

    1. I hope too...that was so much not good that I've found myself feeling very MinnesotaSports about the prospects of this series.

      1. I don't know if it was the long layoff between series, or something else, but my level of passion dropped dramatically between these rounds, so even if they lose out in 4, it's not quite that "I believed and then was let down" Minnesota thing for me. Something's just missing that was there before. Even if they come back and win, I'm not sure I'll be too gung-ho about it.
