  1. The pregame show had some random tribute to Torii, talking about how we were witnessing what it was like to truly be a man.

  2. Linds has a hatred for Tommy Milone (something about the previous owner of Milone's current number). She just walked in, saw who was pitching, gave a disgusted sigh, and walked back out.

    1. If he doesn't start finding the strike zone here today, I might be inclined to agree with her in the short term.

      1. I'm okay with him as a 5th starter. But dude lives on the edge (of the plate). No margin for error.

        1. Yeah. Lots of nibbling. If the umpire isn't giving you the benefit of the doubt on some marginal ones, you're in the trouble. If he doesn't give you pitches that nick the black, it's good to be a short start.

            1. You'd think with all those bullpen arms, I'd be less concerned about a potential short start, but yeah.

      1. Looks like that should have been he debuted yesterday. However, Guerra relieved Locke to start the sixth today.

    1. This potential mistake has moved from visual to audible. There is now a rumbling on the horizon.

      1. If the storm had waited ten more minutes, I would have been fine. Fortunately, that tarp kept the rain out of the wort.

  3. the way Santana has hit so far this year, does it really matter whether the pitcher bats 8th or 9th?

    Go, danny!

    1. Someone needs to run the numbers on two pitchers batting. Maybe they should bat sixth and eighth.

      1. They should hire me to do it, then. I'd be happy to make any umpire look a bad for reasonable compensation.

      1. I love this typo. I'm now picturing you challenging things repeatedly at your place of employment and various other mundane activities.

  4. Tommy Milone's career high in Ks is ten (accomplished three times). Whoa. Smokes and Mirrors!

  5. Sigh. Remember when the Twins were awesome with runners in scoring position? I miss those days.

  6. Girl: Excuse me, what's a nine-letter word for "Terrific?"
    Will: That's easy: "Will Smith."

  7. There are two drafts of a game log for this tilt that didn't publish ... don't know why, but the gist was, even as he inches closer to Puckett for 6th on the Twins HR list, Torii will never be ahead of Kirby on my list of favorite Twins players. That being said, today's HR was one of the few really bright spots in what is becoming an annoying recurrence: Twins losing due to a complete lack of offense.
