Where They Stand

I know I still have several days of minor league games to catch up on, but with the minor league season winding down, I thought you might want to know what the standings look like.

Minnesota is 65-61, second in the American League Central, 12 games behind Kansas City.  The Twins are second in the wild card standings, a half-game ahead of Texas.  They have won six consecutive games and are 7-3 in their last ten games.

Rochester is 68-64, second in the International League North, 8 games behind Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.  The Red Wings are fourth in the wild card standings, 7 games behind Columbus.  They won their most recent game and are 6-4 in their last ten games.

Chattanooga is 26-31 in the second half, fourth in the Southern League North, 10 games behind Montgomery.  Their overall record is 69-56.  They won the first half, and have therefore qualified for the playoffs.  The Lookouts lost their most recent game and are 5-5 in their last ten games.

Fort Myers is 32-28, in the second half, third in the Florida State League South, 8 games behind Palm Beach.  Their overall record is 70-60.  The Miracle has lost five consecutive games and is 5-5 in its last ten games.

Cedar Rapids is 31-27 in the second half, fourth in the Midwest League Western, 8 games behind Kane County.  Their overall record is 72-56.  They finished second in the first half, and have therefore qualified for the playoffs.  The Kernels have lost two consecutive games and are 4-6 in their last ten games.

Elizabethton is 31-30, tied for second in the Appalachian League West, 3.5 games behind Kingsport.  The top two teams in each division qualify for the playoffs.  The Twins have lost three consecutive games and are 4-6 in their last ten games.

The GCL Twins are 27-30, third in the GCL South, 13 games behind the GCL Red Sox.  They have been eliminated from playoff contention.  The Twins lost their most recent game and are 2-8 in their last ten games.

The DSL Twins finished their season 36-36, fourth in the Boca Chica South, 17 games behind the DSL Giants.  They did not qualify for the playoffs.  The Twins won their last three games and were 5-5 in their last ten games.
