    1. If he gets a hit during the World Series, I wonder if it'll count. Baseball ignores postseason stats so anything he does in this series won't count for his career numbers.

        1. I have no idea. Researching a bit, there are about 183 days in an MLB season in which a player can accrue service time, up to a maximum of 172 days. 183 days is six months, plus or minus a day, so that can only cover April through September. That seems to mean a player cannot accrue service time for the entire postseason.

      1. He does pre and post game stuff, but also chimes in during a random inning when the game is on.

  1. I put the wolves game on the iPad and Towns has me frighteningly optimistic for the future.

  2. Between Wolves, Wild, World Serires there is too much sport tonight.

but yeah, Towns looks very polished for a big man rookie.

  3. First sequence I see of the Wolves all year:

    1. Towns 3-point play,
    2. Towns block,
    3. Towns drills 20-footer trailing the break.

    Drool.

      1. He assisted on both of those Towns shots, then was subbed out, so I haven't seen him shoot.

  4. The Wolves playing defense with Lavine and Martin on the court together is like playing 5-3 with two folding chairs.

    1. Well, something is working. Wolves hold Nuggets to 30.5% from the field. Lowest opponent shooting percentage last year was 37.9. Only 3 times did they hold opponent to under 40% last year.

  5. Drove down to St. Paul and watched a very entertaining Wild Game. Lots of Black Hawk fans leaving a bit sad in the face. This team is looking pretty good offensively, and outplayed the Hawks a good chunk of the game, but a few silly defensive lapses made it a closer game than it should have been. Zucker looks really good, as does Nino and Cap Koivu on that first line. Pominville is looking a bit lost. 4th line of Haula, Carter and Porter outplayed just about any line they were up against. Dubnyk is not quite in form yet.
