December 10, 2015: Another Game Night

Last night was another of our yearly game nights at Luke Air Force Base. I can't tell you how much I dig doing this event. The flyboys are just so appreciative.

  1. Just made the next-to-last tuition payment for The Boy. #emergingfromonetunnel #ohwaitthereisanothertunnel

    1. LEN3 says it was Sano's choice. He contacted the Twins and asked if it was OK to stop playing. He wants to focus on losing weight and making the switch to the OF.

  2. I'll be staying downtown (Loring area?) this weekend. Any of you big-city types care to recommend places for breakfast/brunch/lunch on Saturday and/or anything else to do between evening holiday parties?

    1. Nope. Has EAR made plans to pick up your boy?
If they want to watch Empire Strikes Back, is that a problem?

      1. That is probably my least favorite objection ever. If I want to revisit something, or double check something, why can't I? I run the risk of getting a different answer and creating credibility issues for the witness. Let me ask it again!

    2. See what CoC posted but it does depend on how far you are willing to travel. Hola is great. If you are willing to go to 38th I'd consider The Peninsula if you are into malaysian. Victor's is supposed to be great for brunch. 38th and Grand. Etc.

  3. I'm thinking I'll try to install dd-wrt on our router tomorrow to see if I can bump up the performance a bit. Anyone here tried it before?

    1. Yep. Depends on your hardware for the bumping up. I didn't see much gain, but YMMV. My spare router had big gains, but my more modern workhorse was pretty much the same speed wise.

      1. I thought about trying it on the old router first to see what I could manage, and if I brick it we're not out anything.

We have a TP-Link 940n which we just got and is real nice except it's not Chromecast compatible without downgrading to v1 of the firmware. Ideally, dd-wrt on the new one will run faster w/o sacrificing the Chromecast.
