AMR also noticed the embarrassment of riches of Prince videos right now. I've been wanting to play them for years only to be stymied time and time again. I appreciate the outpouring of amazing live performances out there right now, if only so we appreciate the depths of his talent and awesomeness.

  2. This song holds a special place in my heart because of my Dad's reaction.
    After I bought the Purple Rain cassette at the church picnic, I played it from my room while I made dinner and/or washed dishes one afternoon. Dad had the day shift (except for a few years), and was done at 3 (Mom worked until 5) so he was home, reading the newspaper or a magazine or a book in the living room. The climactic screaming falsettos of this song come on and he shouts to to turn that off. So I fast forward into "Computer Blue". "Darling Nikki" later passes without notice.

    This is the same man that after I received a big shipment from BMG, showed disapproval of the Breeders' Last Splash, but said nothing about the Menace II Society OST, which had a Tipper sticker on it.
