Game 47. Twins at M’s. 9pm

Late night baseball + holiday weekend + terrible baseball team = maybe 20 comments for tonight's game?

Even if the Twins were fielding a decent team, it would be a tough task to garner a win because King Felix is on the bump for the Mariners. Pat "I'm not Dizzy" Dean goes for the locals.

Its been a long tough week for me, I hope the Twins put on a good show just to lift my spirits.

  1. Dean wearing #64. Here is the complete list of other Twins players wearing 64

    Aaron Thompson
    Shairon Martis
    Tyler Robertson
Chris Parmelee (before switching to 27)

not exactly a murderers row of players.

  2. Smalley thinks the shift is smart baseball.

Paraphrasing: nine times out ten, these guys if they hit it on the ground, they pull it. Why put a guy where isn't going to hit it?

  3. I think the Twins got hosed out of a run there. The ball was ruled out of play (?)

    1. No kidding. How is that a ground rule double? Nobody touched it and it wasn't stuck.

      1. I don't know how much time Dicknbert spent talking about the Grossman double, but Cory and Dazzle talked to some Seattle people in the press box, went through the ground rules in the media guide, and could come up with no explanation other than that the umpire blew it.

        1. they basically did the Selig shrug and moved on fairly quick because of the weird Park play 3 pitches later.

        2. I think Gardy would have been tossed after that one. Not that Molitor should have been tossed or didn't do enough, just pointing out differences in managerial style.

  4. only have half an eye on the game, but man, the mariners keep eking runs past the twins. at least, that's as much as my brain can comprehend right now.

  5. In his short career, Danny Santana has hit 13 more doubles (43) than has taken a walk (30)

    1. He's showing some raw power in that he's hitting balls reasonably poorly and they're reaching and exceeding the fence.

  6. Glad to see that "something happened" and the Twins had a couple of extra base home run hits. We're still on track for 128-34!
