Minor Details: Games of June 10

A big inning sinks Rochester.  Another big day for Daniel Palka.  The first inning was key for Fort Myers.

TOLEDO 9, ROCHESTER 7 IN ROCHESTER

A seven-run eighth turned a 5-1 Red Wings lead into a defeat.  Rochester used three pitchers in the inning, none of whom was effective.  The inning spoiled a fine starting effort by Jason Wheeler, who pitched six innings, giving up two runs on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts.  James Beresford was 3-for-5 with a double, raising his average to .302.  Eddie Rosario was 2-for-4 with a home run (his fourth) and a walk, raising his average to .333.  Jorge Polanco was 1-for-5 with a double and is batting .322.  Logan Schafer was 1-for-5 and is batting .303.

CHATTANOOGA 6, TENNESSEE 2 IN TENNESSEE

Mitch Garver's three-run homer in the eighth made the score 6-1 and put the game out of reach.  The home run was Garver's fourth.  Daniel Palka was 2-for-4 with a triple and a home run, his fifteenth.  Engelb Vielma was 1-for-3 and is batting .322.  Leonardo Reginatto was 0-for-4 with a walk and is batting .300.  D. J. Baxendale pitched six innings, allowing one run on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts.

FORT MYERS 4, BREVARD COUNTY 1 IN BREVARD COUNTY (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)

The Miracle got seven singles in the first inning, producing all four of their runs for the win.  Nick Gordon was 2-for-4.  Alex Perez was 2-for-3.  Keaton Steele struck out five in five innings, allowing one run on six hits and two walks.

FORT MYERS 2, BREVARD COUNTY 0 IN BREVARD COUNTY (GAME 2--7 INNINGS)

The Miracle once again scored all of their runs in the first inning, with both coming home on a two-run double by Joe Maloney.  Felix Jorge struck out eight in a complete game shutout, giving up three hits and a walk.  Trey Vavra was 2-for-3.

PEORIA 5, CEDAR RAPIDS 2 IN PEORIA

Brian O'Keefe hit a two-run double in the fourth to give the Chiefs a lead they would not relinquish.  Cody Stashak pitched well other than a three-run fourth, going 6.1 innings and giving up three runs on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts.  Nelson Molina was 2-for-3 and is batting .303.  Daniel Kihle was 2-for-4.  Luis Arraez was 0-for-4 and is batting .316.  LaMonte Wade was 1-for-4 and is batting .309.

DSL TWINS 11, DSL MARINERS1 4 AT MARINERS1

A six-run eighth turned a 5-4 Twins lead into a blowout.  There were two walks, two wild pitches, two errors, and a passed ball in the inning.  Pedro Garcia pitched five innings, giving up one run on two hits and no walks with two strikeouts.  In nine innings, he has allowed one run on two hits and two walks.  Edgar Herrera was 3-for-5 with a triple and a double and is now 11-for-20.  Juan Martinez was 3-for-4 with two doubles.  Jorge Parra was 2-for-5 and is now 6-for-14.
