    1. Eh, probably not. With my dad and we rarely do stuff like this. Plus, love this view in 319

  1. I truly want to know... is bunting (and running the bases for that matter) this hard for every major leaguer, or just the ones who play for the Twins? Is it coaching? Is it lack of concentration? Or is it just your basic, run-of-the-mill ineptitude!?! I can't figure out how this team can so frequently make such a beautiful game so f¥<{!*g ugly.

    1. i always think the Twins call more bunts and do it regardless of the batter, which leads to crappy bunters trying to put one down.

        1. Maybe so, but this wasn't the first God-awful bunt attempt by him this .....

          PLOUFFDA!!!!!11111!1!1!1!

    2. Of note, under Molitor, the Twins have tried the 3rd most sac bunts in the AL. Under Gardy, they were tied for the second fewest in his final season.

      1. Also of note, under Gardy, Twins were 74% successful on sac bunts in his final season. Under Molitor, they were 53% (tied for last in the AL) last year and 50% successful this year after tonight's 0-for-2.

        1. They went 1-for-4 last night. Kepler succeeded; Suzuki failed thrice.

  2. No one commented on the additional bunting in the ninth?

How about having a billion relievers so you take out a righty after twelve pitches to bring in a lefty... to face a righty? Molitor apparently has completely forgotten that a player can pitch multiple innings (or fractions of an inning) in relief.

      1. I'm fine with that move. A run ends the game, Plouffe likely won't come up again for a couple of innings, and Plouffe is so hurt that there was no way he was scoring unless station-to-station.

  3. I have seen Suzuki attempt to bunt 3 times in games I have attended this year. The result was 4 outs and no runners advancing.

  4. The Twins signed Sano, Polanco and Kepler all in the same offseason. All three have a .800+ OPS for the Twins this seaoson (Polanco obviously in limited PAs and not with the team at this time). This was definitely the highlight of the Smith era.
